Getting a Coronavirus Test Is Like \u2018Being Stabbed in the Brain\u2019<\/h1>\n

Roughly 15,000 people in the United States have tested positive for\u00a0the novel coronavirus that\u2019s sparked global panic and killed more than 200 Americans<\/a>. But the number of people in the U.S. infected with COVID-19 is thought to be much higher.<\/p>\n

The lack of testing for the virus and the glacial pace at which tests have become available to many Americans accounts for the difference. Experts say this failure has led to more infections and\u00a0stricter rules regarding social isolation<\/a>, as public-health experts and local leaders err on the side of caution and attempt to isolate everybody.<\/p>\n

Late this week there are signs, finally, that tests are becoming more widely available.\u00a0According to\u00a0The Atlantic<\/em><\/a>, more than 100,000 have now been tested for the virus and you may soon join them.<\/p>\n
