It\u2019s Just That There\u2019s So Many People Getting Infected That \u2018Some People That Are Not [Okay]\u2019<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>NYPD Counterterrorism Officer Wright: I think, is, uh, misinformation. Not Necessarily Wrong, But Misinformation.\u201d<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Hospital Paramedic: \u201cUnfortunately When You Walk in [to the hospital], and You Say:<br \/>\n\u2018I Think I Have it [COVID-19],\u2019 it Goes Down as Considered a Case and Gets Reported to the CDC. It\u2019s money.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST<\/b>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<i>\u201cYou think it\u2019s all bullsh*t?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Edward<\/b>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<i>\u201cListen, Cuomo wanted this shut down for what? The Stimulus\u2026 This guy Trump wanted this down for what? For stimulus. Remember, a couple of trillion dollars.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>In another exchange with a Brooklyn hospital paramedic and Veritas journalist, the healthcare worker opened up about how the CDC is counting the Coronavirus cases and how the official numbers being made public are most likely inaccurate:<\/p>\n<p><b>PARAMEDIC:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>A lot of people coming to the hospitals exaggerating and be sent home because they don\u2019t have it [COVID-19]. So, unfortunately, when you walk in, and you say: \u2018I\u00a0think I have it,\u2019 it goes down as considered a case [positive for COVID-19] and gets reported to the CDC. So it adds to the numbers.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>So all the numbers aren\u2019t accurate?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>PARAMEDIC:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cNo, because now they have to see how many of those cases are actually positive cases.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>&#8220;So the CDC is just telling us, everybody.&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>PARAMEDIC:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cYeah, everybody who walks in the door that\u2019s complaining of it gets put in as a case until proven otherwise.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>A Brooklyn hospital doctor also explained to a Veritas journalist about who is really at risk from this virus and what is most needed at hospitals as they see it:<\/p>\n<p><b>DOCTOR:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>Most people are going to be okay, some people are not. It\u2019s just that there\u2019s so many people getting infected that those \u2018some people that are not [okay]\u2019 are ending up here, and it&#8217;s getting overfilled.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>Okay.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>DOCTOR:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>That\u2019s the problem.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>Okay.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>DOCTOR:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>95% are fine, but the 5% that aren&#8217;t fine are pretty sick, and we can&#8217;t handle 5% of eight million people in New York City.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>Yeah, that\u2019s for sure. Are you guys good on beds?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>DOCTOR:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>Beds are okay; we need more vents. So if you have friends that have vents.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>A Healthcare Worker at the SUNY Downstate Hospital in Brooklyn summed up the difficulties that medical professionals are dealing with in this crisis:<\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTHCARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cThey\u2019re asking all the different private labs to try to come up with a test themselves that sees which one is the best and which one comes back the fastest. No one &#8211; there\u2019s no centralized effort on this one.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cReally?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTHCARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cMmhmm.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cSo it\u2019s all &#8211; everyone\u2019s just kind of winging it? In other words?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTHCARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>Yup.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cWow.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTHCARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cYup.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cThat\u2019s sad for you guys.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTHCARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cIt\u2019s F\u2019ed.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cYeah.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTHCARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cYeah.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>Yeah, that\u2019s &#8211; that\u2019s &#8211; pretty brutal.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cSo, what, if they\u2019re working on different tests, what tests are they using right now? \u2018Cause I was trying to get one myself if I\u2019m, you know, I mean, I live in New York, like\u2026\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTHCARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cYou\u2019re not going to get one.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cNo? Under any circumstances?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTH CARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cYou can search online, and you can, you can, uh, ask your doctor. If they tell you to come to the ER, that\u2019s false.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>Really?<\/i>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTH CARE WORKER 2:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cYou have to keep them separated.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTH CARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0\u201c<i>Yeah, \u2018cause I had a person, I had a guy who came in, and he was like, \u2018I\u2019m really worried I have it (COVID-19). My doctor told me not to leave the ER.\u2019 Even after I told him I \u2013 We can\u2019t get it (COVID test) for you, and I was like, \u2018I &#8211; absolutely there is no way I\u2019m going to test you. I can\u2019t. We don\u2019t have enough.\u2019 Even though his doctor said, don&#8217;t leave the ER without getting a test. So everyone&#8217;s misinformed because no one knows what&#8217;s going on. Things are changing so quickly, this is something we don&#8217;t know about, and we&#8217;re learning.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTH CARE WORKER 2:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cYeah, it\u2019s a new thing.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cYeah. Do you think the media\u2019s covering this accurately?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>HEALTH CARE WORKER:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cI don&#8217;t know. I&#8217;m not watching the media; I&#8217;m here.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>In a conversation with two NYPD counterterrorism officers guarding USNS Comfort on Manhattan&#8217;s Pier 90, the policemen provided their perspective on the media\u2019s coverage:<\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cI mean, you guys see this firsthand, do you think what the news is telling you is accurate?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>COUNTERTERRORISM OFFICER KECKLEY:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cWe\u2019ve been talking about this all day.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>JOURNALIST:<\/b>\u00a0<i>\u201cWhat\u2019s your real opinion?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>COUNTERTERRORISM OFFICER KECKLEY:<\/b>\u00a0<i>&#8220;My opinion is that they&#8217;re preparing for worst-case scenario and I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s going to be as bad as the media portrays it to be. Like, yeah, everyone&#8217;s going to probably catch it in some way, shape, or form like the flu. It&#8217;s just like a more contagious flu that will harm more people that have pre-existing conditions.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The brave men and women featured in this video are on the front lines of the battle<br \/>\nagainst the Coronavirus pandemic, and we salute their service to our country at this time.
