State Rep Says China Only Giving Masks to France If They Install Huawei 5G (aka \u201cGreatest National Security Threat to the U.S.\u201d)<\/h1>\n

Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) said on Sunday that China is trying to leverage its supply of medical safety gear to force other countries to use Huawei for 5G, a company owned by communist China that Attorney General William Barr recently suggested poses perhaps the\u00a0 greatest national security threat<\/a>\u00a0to the United States and its allies.<\/p>\n

At the tail end of a video clip from a Fox News interview that Green posted to his Twitter account over the weekend, Green said, \u201cIn France, we were told yesterday on a conference call that [French President Emanuel] Macron was talking to [Chinese President] Xi and Macron asked for a billion masks, and Xi said, \u2018We\u2019ll give them to you if you implement 5G with Huawei.\u2019 That\u2019s who China is and it\u2019s time the world wake up and recognize it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Attorney General Barr said earlier this year that China\u2019s intent is to \u201cdominate\u201d the 5G market with Huawei, which will allow them to gain more influence in the global economy and control the next generation of internet.\u00a0\u201cMuch of the discussion on the dangers of allowing China to establish dominance in 5G has been focused on the immediate security concern of using communications networks that China can monitor and surveil,\u201d Barr said during a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in early February. \u201cThat is, in fact, a monumental danger.\u201d<\/p>\n

The New York Post reported on Sunday that the administration was weighing taking legal action against China after major U.S. manufacturers\u00a0 said<\/a> that China blocked them from being able to export medical safety gear as the coronavirus pandemic exploded around the world.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Defense Secretary, Mark Esper<\/a> and Brig. Gen. Robert S. Spalding<\/a> and have warned about 5G applications too.\u00a0 In fact, many security experts<\/a> were warning about 5G since long before the pandemic.\u00a0 5G proponents<\/a> have even warned it could cause cyberattacks, \u201chuge levels of vulnerability,\u201d and threats to national security.<\/p>\n
