CDC Has New Social Distancing Guidelines For Pets<\/h1>\n

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has extended social distancing guidelines to pets.\u201cTreat pets as you would other human family members \u2014 do not let pets interact with people or animals outside the household,\u201d the agency said in an advisory\u00a0statement<\/a>. \u201cIf a person inside the household becomes sick, isolate that person from everyone else, including pets.\u201d<\/p>\n

While CDC acknowledged there is still much to be known about COVID-19, in some situations \u201cit appears that it can spread from people to animals\u201d although\u00a0\u201cbased on the limited information available to date, the risk of animals spreading COVID-19 to people is considered to be low.\u201d<\/p>\n

We\u2019re still learning about how #COVID19<\/a> affects animals, but it appears that people can spread the virus to animals in some situations.
