Dick Morris, a former advisor to former President Bill Clinton, believes that the search of former President Donald Trump\u2019s home is not about Trump evading the FBI but the FBI evading him.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need to go from defense to offense on this,\u201d he said<\/a> to Newsmax. \u201cI think that one of the big reasons\u00a0\u2014 if not the major reason\u00a0\u2014 that the FBI seized those documents is that they incriminate not Trump, but the FBI in the Russia collusion scandal, in the scandal of spying on Trump\u2019s campaign, and in the scandal of fabricating evidence to the FISA court to lead to wiretaps on key Trump officials.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morris has also been an advisor to former President Trump said he did not believe he would have taken documents with him to Mar-a-Lago to<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy would Donald Trump take documents with him to Mar-a-Lago that could impact could be bad for him and not declassify them so that they were innocuous,\u201d he said to host Rita Cosby. \u201cWhy would he do that? He wasn\u2019t writing a book or anything like that.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the only reason that he took them with him\u00a0\u2014 well, the major reason\u00a0\u2014 was for him to review them to find evidence implicating the FBI.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why they raided Mar-a-Lago to get a hold of that stuff before Trump did. And I think that what we\u2019re looking here is not about Donald Trump evading the FBI, but the FBI evading Donald Trump,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Morris believes that the FBI wanted the documents because they may show an abuse of power by the FBI.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe doesn\u2019t look like he was getting them to review them for his memoirs or anything\u00a0\u2014 he\u2019s not writing them\u00a0\u2014 but in order to go through the evidence himself and see what it implicated the FBI and its conduct against him,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He also believes that the search of his home will not end with the former president being indicted.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt sets up, in effect, what they call a Chinese wall between the evidence being between the evaluation of evidence for intelligence purposes and evaluation for the purposes of criminal prosecution,\u201d the former Clinton advisor said. \u201cThat means they can\u2019t use one in the case of the other. So, effectively, until the special master reviews the documents, they can\u2019t use any documents for criminal investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I think that eventually they will not have the basis for an indictment of Trump. I used to think he might be indicted, but I\u2019ve now come to the view after Judge [Aileen] Cannon\u2019s order, that he will not be,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

An attorney for former President Donald Trump said that she is disturbed by the leaks coming from the Department of Justice regarding the raid on Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is incredibly disturbing to me in terns of leaks coming from the Justice Department,\u201d Alina Habba said Wednesday on the Newsmax show\u00a0\u201cWake Up America,\u201d Newsmax reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She said that it is another example of the Department of Justice and FBI being politicized.<\/p>\n

In the most recent leak, an unnamed source told The Washington Post that information on the nuclear capabilities of another nation were found in the documents at Mar-a-Lago.<\/p>\n

The attorney said \u201cwhen you have to defend yourself [as the DOJ is currently doing], stories come out. \u2026 And I think that\u2019s exactly what they are, just stories.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said that the media\u2019s telling of the story is \u201cinconsistent, outrageous, and all over the map.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said that the Department of Justice will appeal the decision to appoint a special master, which it did, but that \u201cwhat people need to remember is that this ruling is an injunction, so at this moment everything has stopped in terms of any investigation they might be having, which is a very big win for the Trump team.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Department of Justice has decided to appeal the decision of the judge who appointed a special master to oversee the documents seized from former President Donald Trump\u2019s private residence.<\/p>\n

It also asked that asked Judge Aileen Cannon pause her order that blocked the Department of Justice from continuing to review the documents, NBC News reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The moves came three days after Cannon approved Trump\u2019s request for a special master to sift through the seized materials\u00a0to identify personal items and records that are protected by attorney-client privilege or executive privilege.<\/p>\n
