{"id":13699,"date":"2020-05-08T21:17:56","date_gmt":"2020-05-09T01:17:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=13699"},"modified":"2020-05-08T21:21:29","modified_gmt":"2020-05-09T01:21:29","slug":"cbs-caught-faking-patients-at-testing-site-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=13699","title":{"rendered":"CBS Caught Faking Patients at Testing Site (Video)"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"css-zykaqx e5o5ohg1\">\n<div class=\"css-0\">\n<div class=\"css-1nxazx7\">\n<div class=\"css-1v2xxou\">\n<div class=\"css-1kg3u6n\">\n<h1 class=\"css-1tehxfu ekxyxev1\">\u2018CBS This Morning\u2019 Aired Faked COVID-19 Drive-Through Testing Site Line of Cars<\/h1>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"css-17vo8t3 ekxyxev3\">A CBS News crew pulled medical professionals off the floor at the Cherry Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to line up in their vehicles so a CBS film crew would have a long line for their COVID-19 coverage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"css-1ukw4oq\">\n<div class=\"css-eq9dyw ekxyxev11\">\n<ul>\n<li>&#8216;We Could Have Done Other Stuff,\u201d Registered Nurse complains.<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Apparently, the news crew wanted more people in the line,\u2019 said a Cherry Health Supervisor.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cWe pretended. There were a couple of real patients, which made it worse,\u201d Said<br \/>\nAnother Registered Nurse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"#ExposeCBS Michigan Health Center Workers Stage \u201cFake Patients\u201d In COVID19 Testing Line For CBS News\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oQWRCECbN-Y?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur insider witnessed the whole thing and came to Project Veritas, because he knew we would protect him,\u201d said James O\u2019Keefe, the founder and CEO of Project Veritas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe insider told us that medical personnel were taken away from treating patients and making the line longer for actual patients wait for the COVID-19 test,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with the insider, O\u2019Keefe asked the insider: \u201cYou&#8217;re telling me you&#8217;re a hundred percent certain that CBS News, CBS News Corporation&#8211;national, staged a fake event. They faked the news. They faked the reality and broadcasted that to all of their audience last Friday on \u201cCBS This Morning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The insider said to him: \u201cA hundred percent. Absolutely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nick Ross, a corporate cleaning site supervisor at the Cherry Health facility, said he was there when the CBS News crew arrived and set up the video shoot at the COVID-19 testing site in the parking lot, &#8220;Apparently the news crew wanted more people in the line because they knew it was scheduled.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maria Hernandez-Vaquez, a professional registration specialist, told the insider that Cherry Health Director of Quality and Informatics Glenda Walker helped to organize the facility\u2019s workers into the COVID-19 testing line.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s just annoying cause we could have done other stuff,\u201d said one registered nurse there recorded with a hidden camera by a Project Veritas insider.<\/p>\n<p>The nurse said personnel at the medical center were given the heads-up to expect the CBS News crew. \u201cWe knew they were coming. We had no clue that we\u2019re going to have to, like, do fake patients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another registered nurse, Alison Mauro, recorded on hidden camera, said she and other medical professionals working the drive-through testing site did not administer the actual swab swipe as CBS News was filming, but the actual patients were made to wait longer because of the manufactured line. \u201cWe pretended. There were a couple of real patients, which made it worse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The footage was used to accompany CBS News reporter Andriana Diaz\u2019s narration and interview with\u00a0<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cherryhealth.org\/staff\/tasha-blackmon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tasha Blackmon, the president and CEO of Cherry Health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the CBS News report, Blackmon told her facility needed gowns and N95 masks, which filter incoming breath to protect the medical professional.<\/p>\n<p>Cherry Health President and CEO Tasha Blackmon told Project Veritas in a phone conversation: &#8220;We and CBS News had nothing to do with that line.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Blackmon said she had not viewed the preview of the Project Veritas report that had been emailed to her, and that after reviewing the matter with her team, she would give Project Veritas a statement. Project Veritas followed up with phone calls and emails, but there was no further response before the deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Project Veritas also spoke to CBS News President Susan Zirinsky, who agreed to review a preview of the report and send a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The CBS News statement reads in full:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>CBS News did not stage anything at the Cherry Health facility. Any suggestion to the contrary is 100% false. These allegations are alarming. We reached out to Cherry Health to address them immediately. They informed us for the first time that one of their chief officers told at least one staffer to get in the testing line along with real patients. No one from CBS News had any knowledge of this before tonight. They also said that their actions did not prevent any actual patients from being tested. We take the accuracy of our reporting very seriously and we are removing the Cherry Health portion from the piece.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cCBS This Morning\u201d Executive Producer Diana Miller\u00a0<a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.viacbs.com\/news\/content-and-experiences\/the-ingenuity-that-can-go-into-a-news-production-is-on-full-display\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gave an interview to her parent company\u2019s website Viacom.com<\/a>, where she said the morning TV news show was making its coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic a priority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever you\u2019re chasing a story that\u2019s developing, there are threads that emerge.
