Rick Scott mocks NAACP with travel advisory for socialists heading to Florida<\/h1>\n

S<\/span>en.\u00a0Rick Scott<\/a>\u00a0(R-FL) hit back at the\u00a0NAACP’s<\/a>\u00a0travel advisory with a warning of his own \u2014 for socialists coming to\u00a0Florida<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“Florida is openly hostile toward Socialists, Communists, and those that enable them. Before traveling to Florida, please understand that the state of Florida devalues and marginalizes the contributions of, and the challenges faced by Socialists and others who work in the Biden Administration,” Scott’s advisory warned.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the NAACP advised “African Americans and others that if you travel to Florida” to “beware that your life is not valued, that we have a political landscape that could cause harm as we prepare for the 2024 elections to right-size the political landscape in the state of Florida.”<\/p>\n

NAACP President Derrick Johnson defended the warning by highlighting Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) policies regarding the LGBT community, education, and immigration.<\/p>\n
