The folks at Snopes, whose\u00a0whore mongering<\/a>\u00a0(and\u00a0allegedly rapey<\/a>) co-founder was fired for\u00a0mass plagiarism<\/a>, have once again illustrated why the world of ‘fact checkers’ are nothing more than otherwise-unemployable partisan hacks.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday,\u00a0Snopes took a shot at Elon Musk<\/strong>\u00a0in a hit-piece titled “Was the Missing Titanic Submersible Using Satellites from Elon Musk\u2019s Company?<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

The article is of course meant to imply that the OceanGate Titanic exploration submersible, which lost contact with its surface support vessel on Sunday, went missing due to a Starlink failure.<\/p>\n

After Snopes’ account tweeted the article, a scorching Twitter community note tore the article to shreds – noting that\u00a0while OceanGate has used StarLink services, they’re used for their\u00a0surface vessels<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0<\/em>not their submersibles. Idiots.\u00a0The note also clarifies that radio frequencies such as StarLink’s do not work underwater<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cStarlink operates in the 10.7 to 12.7 GHz band.
