Imagine someone from 2013 hearing congressional testimonies about \u201croutine\u201d military pilot encounters with giant flying tic tacs, floating orbs, 300-foot red squares, and cubes in clear spheres zipping around in ways that surpass all known earthly technology by leaps and bounds, or about secret government possession of otherworldly aircraft they\u2019re trying to reverse engineer and the dead bodies of their non-human pilots, or about the possibility that these creatures are not merely extraterrestrial but\u00a0<em>extra-dimensional<\/em>. Their jaws would have hit the floor.<\/p>\n<p>Now in 2023 we\u2019ve been getting incrementally drip-fed bits and pieces of these stories for six years, so the scene on Capitol Hill on Wednesday didn\u2019t have the impact it would\u2019ve had in 2013. It\u2019s making headlines and getting attention, but not as much as Sinead O\u2019Connor\u2019s death or people\u2019s thoughts on Barbie and Oppenheimer. The response from the general public could be described as a collective nervous laugh and a shrug.<\/p>\n<p>People scroll past the footage from the hearing on social media, go \u201cWhoa, that\u2019s weird,\u201d and move on with their lives. The information\u2019s going in, but just kind of on the periphery of mainstream consciousness. Maybe next year they\u2019ll show us something that would\u2019ve been even\u00a0<em>more<\/em>\u00a0shocking to someone in 2013 than Wednesday\u2019s hearing would\u2019ve been, and it will be met with the same nervous laugh and shrug by the people of 2024.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SNgoul4vyDM?version=3&amp;rel=1&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;fs=1&amp;hl=en&amp;autohide=2&amp;wmode=transparent\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Of course in the circles I tend to interact with, the response is a bit different. People who are highly skeptical of the US war machine tend to also be highly skeptical of this UFO narrative we\u2019ve been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2021\/05\/28\/ufos-secret-history-government-washington-dc-487900\">seeing since 2017<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDistraction\u201d is a word you hear a lot. \u201cIt\u2019s just a distraction from ______\u201d, where \u201c______\u201d is whatever hot story they personally happen to be fascinated by at the moment. I personally don\u2019t buy that explanation; the new UFO narrative wasn\u2019t just cooked up at the last minute to distract from current headlines, it\u2019s been unfolding for six years, and people aren\u2019t even paying that much attention to it. The empire doesn\u2019t tend to orchestrate spectacular events as a \u201cdistraction\u201d anyway; the adjustment of public attention tends to take the much more mundane form of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Agenda-setting_theory\">agenda setting in the media<\/a>, where some stories receive more attention than others based on what\u2019s convenient for the oligarchs who own the press.<\/p>\n<p>I also see people theorizing that this is all a ploy to ramp up the US military budget. There could totally be something to that, but again this narrative has been unfolding for six years and so far the military budget has just been swelling in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Military_budget_of_the_United_States\">the usual yearly increments<\/a>\u00a0as always.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t get me wrong, though \u2014 I\u2019m as skeptical about this thing as anyone. For one thing the origins of the mainstream UFO narrative which began in 2017\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/03\/21\/ufo-believing-pentagon-bosses-missed-spy-craft-for-years\/\">were steeped in<\/a>\u00a0extensive distortion, dishonesty and journalistic malpractice, and were carried forward by shady intelligence operatives like Lue Elizondo. David Grusch, who made by far the most sensational claims at Wednesday\u2019s congressional hearing with his tales of dead aliens and reverse-engineered UFOs,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/David_Grusch_UFO_whistleblower_claims\">is himself<\/a>\u00a0an insider of the US intelligence cartel.<\/p>\n<p>But for me what really stinks about all this UFO stuff is the timing. Here we are in the early stages of a new cold war which features a race to militarize space, and we\u2019re hearing congressional testimony about mysterious vehicles posing a threat to US airspace which have the ability to go up and down between earth and space very quickly. That smells off.<\/p>\n<p>I mean, does it really sound like a coincidence that we\u2019re seeing all these news stories about UFOs and aliens at the same time we\u2019re seeing news stories about a race between the US and China and Russia to dominate space militarily? A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/pGhWY\">Foreign Policy article<\/a>\u00a0from last year blares the headline \u201cChina and Russia Are Catching Up to U.S. in Space Capabilities, Pentagon Warns\u201d with the subheading \u201cThe militarization of space is picking up pace.\u201d These warnings are echoed in articles by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.defenseone.com\/technology\/2022\/08\/china-could-overtake-us-space-without-urgent-action-report\/376261\/\">Defense One<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6208992\/china-us-space\/\">Time<\/a>. An\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/press.un.org\/en\/2022\/gadis3698.doc.htm\">article on the United Nations website<\/a>\u00a0from last year carries the title \u201c\u2018We Have Not Passed the Point of No Return\u2019, Disarmament Committee Told,\u00a0Weighing Chance Outer Space Could Become Next Battlefield.\u201d A\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.csis.org\/analysis\/defense-against-dark-arts-space-protecting-space-systems-counterspace-weapons\">2021 report<\/a>\u00a0from the war machine-funded Center for Strategic and International Studies titled \u201cDefense Against the Dark Arts in Space: Protecting Space Systems from Counterspace Weapons\u201d warns of the urgent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/futurism.com\/study-the-us-needs-to-build-more-space-weapons\">need to build more space weapons<\/a>\u00a0to counter US enemies. A Global Times article from last year carries the title \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaltimes.cn\/page\/202210\/1277381.shtml\">Chinese experts urge avoidance of space weaponization amid commercial space capability deployment in Ukraine<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These stories about the space militarization race aren\u2019t getting the attention the much more entertaining UFO stories are getting, but it seems likely that those who are responsible for moving the war machinery around are paying a lot more attention to the former than the latter. The US Space Force\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/United_States_Space_Force#Public_image_and_reception\">took its first steps<\/a>\u00a0toward becoming a reality\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/congressman-rogers-a-space-corps-is-inevitable\/\">in 2017<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2021\/05\/28\/ufos-secret-history-government-washington-dc-487900\">same year<\/a>\u00a0these mainstream UFO stories started coming out, with the explicit purpose of countering Russia and China.<\/p>\n<p>And it just seems mighty suspicious to me how we\u2019re being slowly paced into this UFO narrative (or UAP narrative for those hip to the current jargon) right when there\u2019s a mad rush to get weapons into space. I can\u2019t actually think of any other point in history when the timing of something like this would have looked\u00a0<em><strong>more<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0suspicious.<\/p>\n<p>So for me the most disturbing parts of the UFO hearing were the parts that could wind up facilitating the agenda to militarize space, like when this phenomenon was framed as a \u201cnational security\u201d threat or when it was mentioned that they can transition from earth to space very rapidly.<\/p>\n<p>When\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SNgoul4vyDM&amp;t=2511s\">asked<\/a>\u00a0by congressman Glenn Grothman \u201cdo you believe UAPs pose a threat to our national security?\u201d, former Navy commander David Fravor answered with an unequivocal yes. A few minutes later Fravor\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SNgoul4vyDM&amp;t=2944s\">described<\/a>\u00a0these vehicles as being able to \u201ccome down from space, hang out for three hours and go back up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SNgoul4vyDM&amp;t=6970s\">asked<\/a>\u00a0by congressman Andy Ogles whether UFOs could be \u201ccollecting reconnaissance information\u201d on the US military, all three witnesses \u2014 Grusch, Fravor, and former Navy pilot Ryan Graves \u2014 answered in the affirmative. Asked by Ogles if UFOs could be \u201cprobing our capabilities,\u201d all three again said yes. Asked if UFOs could be \u201ctesting for vulnerabilities\u201d in US military capabilities, all three again said yes. Asked if UFOs pose an existential threat to the national security of the United States, all three said they potentially do. Asked if there was any indication that UFOs are interested in US nuclear technology, all three said yes.<\/p>\n<p>Ogles concluded his questioning by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SNgoul4vyDM&amp;t=7080s\">saying<\/a>, \u201cThere clearly is a threat to the national security of the United States of America. As members of Congress, we have a responsibility to maintain oversight and be aware of these activities so that, if appropriate, we take action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SNgoul4vyDM&amp;t=5746s\">asked<\/a>\u00a0by congressman Eric Burlison if \u201cthere has been activity by alien or non-human technology, and\/or beings, that has caused harm to humans,\u201d Grusch said he couldn\u2019t get into specifics in a public setting (a common theme throughout the hearing), but said that \u201cwhat I personally witnessed, myself and my wife, was very disturbing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Grusch would complicate this cryptic statement a few minutes later by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=SNgoul4vyDM&amp;t=6359s\">saying<\/a>\u00a0that he\u2019s never seen a UFO. How this statement doesn\u2019t contradict his previous statement about having witnessed harmful behavior from non-human technology and\/or beings was not made clear.<\/p>\n<p>So you\u2019ve got US policymakers being told that there are vehicles using technology not of this world routinely violating US airspace and posing an existential threat to US national security, and that these craft can go from earth to space and back at will, and that they need to help make sure their nation can address this threat.<\/p>\n<p>What conclusions do you come to when presented with that kind of information? If you\u2019re a lawmaker in charge of facilitating the operation of a highly militaristic empire, you\u2019re probably not going to conclude that it\u2019s time to hold hands and sing Kumbaya. You\u2019re probably eventually going to start thinking in terms of military technology.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most important unanswered questions in all this UFO hullabaloo is, why now? Why are we seeing all this movement on \u201cdisclosure\u201d after generations of zero movement? If these things are in fact real and the government has in fact been keeping them secret, why would the adamant policy of dismissal and locked doors suddenly be reversed, allowing \u201cwhistleblowers\u201d to come forward and give testimony before congress? If they had motive to keep it a secret this entire time, why would that motive no longer be there?<\/p>\n<p>If you ask the online UFO community, many will essentially take credit for the whole thing, saying the most powerful war machine ever assembled has reversed its policy of total opacity because of \u201cpressure\u201d applied by disclosure activists. This doesn\u2019t pass the smell test; the most powerful empire in history isn\u2019t reversing course on a longstanding policy of blanket secrecy because of internet forums and FOIA requests.<\/p>\n<p>So why now? Why the drastic and sudden shift from UFOs and aliens being laughable tinfoil hat nonsense to the subject of serious congressional inquiries and widespread mainstream media coverage?<\/p>\n<p>Well, the timing of the race to militarize space might provide an answer to the \u201cwhy now?\u201d question. Is it a coincidence that this new UFO narrative began its rollout in 2017, around the same time as the rollout of the Space Force? Are we being manipulated at mass scale about aliens and UFOs to help grease the wheels for the movement of war machinery into space? How likely is it that by pure coincidence this extraplanetary narrative timed out the way it did just as the US empire makes a last-ditch grab at unipolar planetary domination?<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know. I do know that if I\u2019m assigning degrees of probability, \u201c<em><strong>Extraterrestrial or extradimensional beings are here and take a special interest in us and sometimes crash their vehicles and our government recovered them but kept them a secret but suddenly decided not to be so secretive about them anymore<\/strong><\/em>\u201d ranks significantly lower than \u201c<em><strong>Our rulers are lying and manipulating to advance their own interests again<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I am 100 percent wide open to the possibility of extraterrestrials and otherworldly vehicles zipping around our atmosphere. What I am\u00a0<em><strong>not<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0open to is the claim that the most depraved institutions on earth have suddenly opened their mind to telling us the truth about these things, either out of the goodness of their hearts or because they were \u201cpressured\u201d by UFO disclosure activists.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know what the hell is going on with this UFO thing, but I do know the drivers of the US empire have an extensive history of manipulating and deceiving at mass scale to advance imperial agendas.
