{"id":188502,"date":"2023-09-28T08:35:24","date_gmt":"2023-09-28T12:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=188502"},"modified":"2023-09-28T08:37:05","modified_gmt":"2023-09-28T12:37:05","slug":"house-fight-of-the-decade-freedom-caucus-war-defunders-vs-rino-ukraine-warmongers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=188502","title":{"rendered":"<h2><b>HOUSE FIGHT OF THE DECADE: Freedom Caucus War Defunders vs. RINO Ukraine Warmongers<\/b><\/h2>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->Renee Parsons<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As Congress gathers for its yearly submission to the Federal government\u2019s annual spending spree, preferably with one up-or-down vote, the Senate\u2019s \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/other\/senate-votes-to-advance-short-term-funding-bill-to-avoid-government-shutdown\/ar-AA1hj8Ys\"><span class=\"s2\">bipartisan\u2019<\/span><\/a> funding agreement was an unrestrained sell out to fiscal insanity. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In the face of a $33 Trillion debt and a $2 Trillion deficit, the Senate\u2019s Continuing Resolution contains <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/mcconnell-weakens-mccarthy-s-leverage-in-government-shutdown-talks\/ar-AA1hmlEX?ocid=msedgdhp&amp;pc=U531&amp;cvid=15568817b527441eb3692602b9bceb71&amp;ei=10\"><span class=\"s2\">$6 Billion for Ukraine<\/span><\/a> setting the stage for a rendezvous with legislative chaos and political turmoil.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a typical display of tyrannical behavior, Senate leadership unveiled a Continuing Resolution package one half hour before the Senate floor vote, providing no Member of the Senate with an opportunity to review, read or otherwise comment on what was being mandated for approval. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Given the fiscal reality of a potential default on the US debt as a terrifying option, it is more than appalling that the Senate is dominated by enough cowardly Senators to cast a 77-19 vote. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>That vote included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.gov\/legislative\/LIS\/roll_call_votes\/vote1181\/vote_118_1_00240.htm#position\"><span class=\"s2\">twenty seven spineless RINOs<\/span><\/a><\/span><span class=\"s2\">,<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> the majority of whom routinely betray their Red Republican states and vote with the Democrats.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Part of the majority vote were Sens. Kevin Cramer (ND), John Barosso (Wyo.) and Roger Wicker (Mississippi) all with upcoming 2024 re election.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">RINO support for continued funding for the Ukraine war has set the stage for an antagonistic confrontation as the Uniparty<\/span> <span class=\"s1\">maintains majority control of the Senate and House appropriation funding apparatus.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Sen. Josh Hawley (Mo.) recently revealed upon exiting a classified meeting that \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/foreign\/josh-hawley-ukraine-aide-no-end-game\"><span class=\"s2\">there is no end game\u2019<\/span><\/a>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In other words, there is no exit, no graceful or not so graceful exit from this self-executing neo-con catastrophe with the next step being deployment of<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>American troops.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>A good guess is that the Biden Administration will not come to Congress for approval but that there are already \u2018advisors\u2019 in Ukraine with a continued increase in the ranks confirming final acknowledgement that Article 1, Section 8, the Constitutional <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/War_Powers_Clause\"><span class=\"s2\">war powers<\/span><\/a> requirement is a charade, a long gone pretense.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">Hawley went on to suggest<i> \u201cThey want us to be writing checks to Ukraine, direct to their government, forever \u2014 year after year, hundreds of billions of dollars. That is ridiculous. For what? What\u2019s the strategy?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They don\u2019t have one. It\u2019s nothing but nation-building. It is nothing but failing to invest in the United States,\u201d <\/i>he added<i>. \u201cWe have to stop. This is crazy.\u201d<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">In March, 2023, Hawley sponsored an amendment to establish a Special Inspector General for Ukraine Assistance Act<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/which-senators-voted-ukraine-aid-inspector-general-josh-hawley-republicans-2023-3?op=1\"><span class=\"s2\">monitor Federal funds<\/span><\/a> going to Ukraine. The motion was defeated 26 \u2013 68 with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.gov\/legislative\/LIS\/roll_call_votes\/vote1181\/vote_118_1_00076.htm#position\"><span class=\"s2\">21 RINOs<\/span><\/a> joining the Democrats, the majority of whom are from Red Republican states. In other words, Members of the once illustrious Senate prefer to avoid the harsh reality that their support for the Ukraine war has taken the country to the brink of bankruptcy.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\"> ***<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">On the House side, as a result of an enormous number of en blanc amendments during is spending extravaganza, here is a sample of many worthy amendments:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Biggs Amendment to cut $300 Million from Ukraine: <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/evs\/2023\/roll432.xml#N\"><span class=\"s2\">104 \u2013 330 with 117 RINOs<\/span><\/a> voting NO<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Boebert Amendment<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>eliminating USDA Equity Diversity Commission:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/evs\/2023\/roll418.xml\"><span class=\"s2\">210 \u2013 216 with 6 RINOs<\/span><\/a> allowing defeat of amendment<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Clyde Amendment re Renaming Confederate Reconciliation Monument at Arlington National Cemetery\u00a0:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/evs\/2023\/roll436.xml\"><span class=\"s2\">172 \u2013 261 with 48 RINOs<\/span><\/a> voting NO<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Gaetz Amendment re<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>security assistance funding for Ukraine:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/evs\/2023\/roll438.xml\"><span class=\"s2\">93 \u2013 339 with 126 RINOs\u2019<\/span><\/a> voting NO<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Gaetz Amendment w\/Dem support re banning cluster munitions:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/evs\/2023\/roll439.xml\"><span class=\"s2\">160 (including 85 Rs and 75 Dems) \u2013 269 with 132 RINOs<\/span><\/a> \u2013 137 Dems voting NO)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hageman Amendment for US to defund the WHO:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Adopted by Voice Vote<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Roy Amendment re eliminate funding Pride Month ($20 M) observance:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/clerk.house.gov\/evs\/2023\/roll441.xml\"><span class=\"s2\">202 \u2013 231 w\/18 RINOs<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>voting NO)<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Rosendale Amendment to prohibit funds to enforce mask mandate:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Adopted by Voice Vote<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Rosendale Amendment to prohibit funds to require member of Armed Forces or civilian DOD employee to receive vaccination against Covid 19: Adopted by Voice Vote <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s4\"> <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Ogles Amendment to prohibit funds for NewsGuard, censorship of conservative voices:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Adopted by Voice Vote<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Crane Amendment to prohibit funds from being used to deploy US Armed Force in Ukraine:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Adopted by Voice Vote.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Tiffany Amendment to reject USDA\u2019s ban on chocolate milk for elementary school children:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Adopted by Voice Vote<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It goes without saying that the Democrats opposed all of these Amendments with the exception of the transfer of cluster munitions. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> ***<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At risk of being unduly pessimistic, is there any reason to believe that any of these \u2018adopted by voice vote\u2019 items will not be reversed by the Senate or in a conference committee before final submission for a Presidential signature?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is, however, noteworthy to spend time reviewing the RINO votes and note the number of Republicans who are not reliable Republican supporters while keep track of those who are reliably Democratic voters.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It is not too early to begin the search for a worthy credible candidate to prepare a primary 2024 challenge as none of those authentic RINOs cannot be expected to change their stripes. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It is also noteworthy to notice the number of RINOs who support the Ukraine war, making no connection between the impending economic implosion and continuing to spend massive amount of taxpayer funds to fulfill a failed political ideology and a failed military strategy and foreign policy objective that were never realistic. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As Rep. Gaetz presented his first amendment to prohibit further financial and security assistance to Ukraine, citing the contradiction that the \u201c<i>US is not stronger by borrowing money from China in order to send it to Ukraine,\u201d <\/i>further pointing out that the US has provided for Ukraine<i> <\/i>citizen pensions while Americans who rely on a pension have no assurance their pension will be there when needed.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Rep. Betty McCullom (Minn.), representing the Democrats strategy of opposing every single Republican amendment, cited \u2018<i>defending Ukraine from Russia\u2019s illegal invasion. Putin\u2019s rewriting the map of Europe, the deliberate targeting of civilians, hospitals, day care facilities in violation of international law<\/i>\u2019 as delusional with no clue as to the history or the truth of Russia\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/press.un.org\/en\/2022\/sc14803.doc.htm\"><span class=\"s2\">Special Military Operation<\/span><\/a> in February, 2022.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a shocking display of sabotaging the Gaetz amendment, Appropriations Chair Grainger sent a representative to oppose the amendment. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Rep. Steve Womack (Ark), a Member of the House Appropriations Committee, made the surprising announcement that the \u201c<i>partnership between Ukraine and the California National Guard is what enabled Ukraine to beat back the Russian Invasion and to degrade Russia\u2019s military forces<\/i>.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Further, Womack argued as if he was completely unaware of the fiscal and political crisis confronting the country that the US should secure the southern border and partner with Ukraine to degrade Russia while urging a No vote on the Gaetz amendment. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">At the end of Gaetz\u2019s amendment, as Rep. Virginia Foxx, Acting Chair of the Whole, called for support; erroneously ordered the \u2018Noes\u2019 with Gaetz requesting his own ayes and nays.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The second Gaetz amendment would inhibit the transfer of cluster munitions, Rep. Sara Jacobs (D-Calif) spoke on the need to remove cluster munitions as the US is not part of the Convention on Cluster Munitions with Rep. McCullom also adding bipartisan support for the amendment.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Again, Rep. Ken Calvert (Calif) a member of the House Appropriations<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Committee, spoke on behalf of Appropriations Chair Grainger to oppose the Gaetz amendment.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Calvert, who never served in the military, displayed a shocking lack of humanity as he cited the need to provide Ukraine with cluster munitions as artillery to \u201cfill the gap\u201d and not limit Ukraine\u2019s ability, to not tie US hands in order to transfer munitions to allies in some future conflict.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As Rep. Foxx, called for the ayes and nays determined the amendment received voice vote approval when the merciless Calvert announced a shameful request for a roll call vote. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"> ***<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It has been discouraging, if not bewildering that three senior Members of the House have displayed such a depth of oblivious unfamiliarity about what much of what the world has already acknowledged as reality of the Ukraine war; with no awareness of the Nazi presence within the Ukraine army.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>With all respect, a productive use of Reps. McCullom, Womack and Calvert time and energy would be to visit with Scott Ritter and\/or Col. MacGregor ASAP; both of whom can apply a much needed painful dose of reality about the Ukraine war. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>One can only assume that all members of Congress are victims of Ukraine lies from the Pentagon, NATO and\/or the CIA?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">I can personally relate to the munitions discussion as my father\u2019s twin brother, whom I never knew, was a paratrooper in the Netherlands in April, 1945 just days before the armistice and came down on a land mine.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>So while Uncle Jim died fighting the Nazis, the US today is in Ukraine on the side of the Nazis.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>In 1997 when the International Campaign to Eliminate Landmines won the Noble Peace Prize, President Bill Clinton refused to congratulate the winner.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>That was beginning of the end of the Clinton era for me.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-188502","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/188502","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=188502"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/188502\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=188502"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=188502"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=188502"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
