Last week, former FBI director James Comey brought the Hillary Clinton email scandal back to the front burner when he testified that then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch forced him to downplay\u00a0the FBI\u2019s criminal investigation and call it a \u201cmatter.\u201d The charge is so serious even Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein\u00a0is\u00a0callin<\/a>g for a probe.<\/p>\n That\u2019s hardly the only movement in the case.<\/p>\n Evidence continues to pile up of Clinton\u2019s wrong-doing\u00a0using<\/a>\u00a0an unsecured private email server\u00a0as secretary of state. But first, a refresher:<\/p>\n Initially, it looked like Hillary Clinton\u00a0would\u00a0escape punishment. On July 7, 2016, then-FBI Director James Comey recommended that no charges be brought against her.<\/p>\n He reasoned that she lacked intent to commit a crime. However, as many pointed out, she did not need to have intended to break the law to be guilty of that\u00a0crime.<\/p>\n She modified her statement to say that she didn\u2019t\u00a0knowingly<\/em>\u00a0send or receive any classified intel.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The evidence Comey produced still damaged Clinton. She\u2019d sent or received 110 classified emails. She\u00a0first\u00a0said she did not email any classified information. She changed her statement after it was clear that wasn\u2019t true. Instead, she said\u00a0she didn\u2019t\u00a0knowingly<\/em>\u00a0send or receive any classified intel.<\/p>\n A week and a half\u00a0before voting day, Comey\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0Congress he was re-opening the probe. Classified emails had been discovered on the laptop of Anthony Weiner. He was the husband of Clinton\u2019s personal aide Huma Abedin. Abedin had forwarded thousands of emails to him.<\/p>\n Many people \u2014 including Clinton herself\u00a0\u2014\u00a0think<\/a>\u00a0Comey\u2019s statement caused her to lose the race.\u00a0A new\u00a0study<\/a>\u00a0by a consortium of pollsters backs this up. Her emails\u00a0were<\/a>\u00a0\u201cthe dominant narrative of the election for her.\u201d Voters associated Donald Trump with several narratives. Some were negative but others were neutral.<\/p>\n Even though Clinton lost the race, the scrutiny hasn\u2019t ended. Judicial Watch\u00a0filed<\/a>\u00a0a lawsuit to obtain copies of her\u00a0emails. So far, the group has\u00a0obtained<\/a>\u00a0433 new\u00a0emails that were not\u00a0part of the 55,000 pages of emails she first\u00a0turned over. She had\u00a0claimed that she turned over all of them.<\/p>\n Judicial Watch says the new emails contain classified information. The group also says that neither the State Department nor the FBI have conducted a full search for the\u00a0emails. The FBI admits that thousands of emails remain out there.<\/p>\n One batch of the new emails\u00a0revealed<\/a>\u00a0that Clinton sent classified information to top officials at the Clinton Foundation, including its director Doug Band. They did not hold security clearances.<\/p>\n Clinton\u2019s scheduler also forwarded her calendar to Clinton Foundation staffers. Cheryl Chumley, writing for\u00a0The Washington Times<\/em>,\u00a0observed<\/a>:\u00a0\u201cYou know \u2014 in case the quid pro quo payments had to be made in person that day. At least: that\u2019s a perception, and concern.\u201d<\/p>\n Clinton used an unsecure Blackberry despite being warned against doing so by security hawks.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Judicial Watch\u00a0submitted<\/a>\u00a0new evidence to the court this week revealing that Clinton also used an unsecure Blackberry. She did so despite being warned. She wrote in an email that she carried\u00a0it, \u201cagainst the advice of the security hawks.\u201d She said she didn\u2019t use it in her office.<\/p>\n A 2009\u00a0memo<\/a>\u00a0from Assistant Secretary of State for Diplomatic Security Eric J. Boswell\u00a0stated that he \u201ccannot stress too strongly\u2026that any unclassified BlackBerry is highly vulnerable in any setting to remotely and covertly monitoring conversations, retrieving email, and exploiting calendars.\u201d The memo was addressed to Cheryl Mills, who served as Clinton\u2019s\u00a0Counselor and Chief of Staff.<\/p>\n In another email obtained by Judicial Watch, Abedin\u00a0says<\/a>\u00a0she \u201chooked up\u201d people from the Russian American Foundation with \u201cthe right people\u201d at the State Department. She was responding\u00a0to a request from the foundation\u2019s vice president Rina Kirshner. Clinton Foundation donor Eddie Trump sent the request to Abedin. The foundation\u00a0received more than\u00a0$260,000 in grants for \u201cpublic diplomacy\u201d from the State Department during Clinton\u2019s tenure.<\/p>\n Some of the wrongdoing that came out was less serious, but still unethical. In July 2010, Abedin arranged for Chelsea Clinton to fly to Germany. She would get to be part of the official delegation to watch the U.S. women\u2019s soccer team play.\u00a0Bari Luri, Chelsea\u2019s Clinton Foundation chief of staff, was also included. Chelsea was to \u201cfly on official govt plane both ways and they will take care of hotels and all transportation.\u201d<\/p>\n In January, DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz began looking into the FBI\u2019s handling of the Clinton email probe. He said it would include claims that the FBI\u00a0\u201cimproperly disclosed non-public information.\u201d He also said he\u00a0would look into whether\u00a0officials like Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe should have removed themselves from the probe.<\/p>\n Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee,\u00a0expressed<\/a>\u00a0his concern recently about how slow the State Department has been reviewing the email scandal. In March, he\u00a0sent<\/a>\u00a0a letter to the agency asking for an update on Clinton\u2019s security clearance. He found out that Clinton and seven members of her former staff still have them.
