Trumpeted by Media While Other Serious Findings Completely Ignored"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"p1\">The IG Report:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Malfeasance, Lies, Threats and Denials<\/h1>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">by Renee Parsons<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">It is no surprise that when the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/storage\/120919-examination.pdf\">Inspector General\u2019s Report<\/a> was released in early December, the corporate media, which itself has been knee-deep and complicit in spreading the false Russiagate narrative, chose to focus on one narrow conclusion: that, given DOJ\u2019s \u2018<i>lax guidelines<\/i>,\u2019 the IG found no bias related to opening the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Ergo, once the Media labels the IG Report, all dutiful subscribers and readers fall in line with its dictates, nodding in concurrence, as those who refuse to do their own homework get on board and accept the hogwash they are being fed.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Once the Media hypes the repetitive drone that there was \u2018no bias,\u2019 the phrase becomes embedded into the collective unconscious and the disinformation becomes gospel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The question has yet to be asked what role the FISA Court played in its own debasement by blindly accepting the majority of surveillance requests and by lax procedures that allow its own credibility to be violated.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">What remains uncertain is exactly how Crossfire Hurricane was born.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>While it is known that the Clinton campaign (via the DNC) hired GP Fusion (which hired DOJ deputy AG Bruce Ohr\u2019s wife) to dig dirt on a Republican candidate for President and we know that former MI 6 asset Christopher Steele became involved with creating a salacious Dossier \u2013 but the specific links tying those diverse parts to the FBI remains enigmatic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">An almost immediate response to the \u2018<i>no bias<\/i>\u2019 allegation came from <a href=\"https:\/\/c-vine.com\/blog\/2019\/12\/09\/ag-barr-statement-in-response-to-ig-horowitz-report\/\">AG William Barr<\/a> stating that<\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201c<i>The Inspector General\u2019s report now makes clear that the FBI <\/i><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><i>launched an intrusive investigation of a U.S. presidential campaign on the thinnest of suspicions that, in my view, were insufficient to justify the steps taken<\/i><\/span>.<span class=\"s1\">\u201d with Special Investigator US Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jennfranconews\/status\/1204107082175148032?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1204107082175148032&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.redstate.com%2Fbonchie%2F2019%2F12%2F09%2Fjohn-durham-breaks-silence-releases-statement-ig-report%2F\">John Durham<\/a> adding<\/span><span class=\"s3\"> that he<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p6\">\u201c<span class=\"s2\"><i>advised the IG that he did not agree with some of the report\u2019s conclusions as to predication and how the FBI case was opened<\/i>.<\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Both responses were highly unusual and may be interpreted as affirmation of a deeper level of complicity than the IG discovered although his investigation was limited to DOJ employees and to the FISA Court process.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">It was not until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.judiciary.senate.gov\/meetings\/examining-the-inspector-generals-report-on-alleged-abuses-of-the-foreign-intelligence-surveillance-act\">IG Horowitz\u2019s testimony<\/a> before the Senate Judiciary Committee that the true scathing impact of the full Report was understood; thus revealing the true depth of the FBI\u2019s embedded systemic problems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Horowitz told the Senate panel:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201c<span class=\"s2\"><i>We found and are deeply concerned that <\/i><b><i>so many basic and fundamental errors<\/i><\/b><i> were made by <\/i><b><i>three separate handpicked investigative teams<\/i><\/b><i> on one of the most sensitive FBI investigations <\/i><b><i>after the matter had been<\/i><\/b><i> <\/i><b><i>briefed to the highest levels within the FBI<\/i><\/b><i> even though the information sought through the use of FISA authority related so closely to an ongoing Presidential campaign and even though those involved with the investigations <\/i><b><i>knew that their actions would likely be subjected to close scrutiny<\/i><\/b><i>. The circumstances reflect the <\/i><b><i>failure not just by those who prepared the applications<\/i><\/b><i> but also by the <\/i><b><i>managers and supervisors in the Crossfire Hurricane chain of command<\/i><\/b><i> <\/i><b><i>including FBI senior officials<\/i><\/b><i> <\/i><b><i>who were briefed<\/i><\/b><i> as the investigation progressed<\/i><\/span><i>\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In dialogue with Sen. Crapo about FBI misconduct as \u2018<i>mind-numbing<\/i>\u2019, Horowitz responded \u201c.<i>there is<\/i> s<span class=\"s2\"><i>uch a range of conduct here that is inexplicable and the answers we got were not satisfactory that we\u2019re left trying to understand how could all these errors occur over a nine month period or so<\/i><\/span>&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">In other words, the FBI, with a tainted history of deeply embedded corruption, has been out of control for decades with an aggressive pursuit of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britannica.com\/topic\/Palmer-Raids\">political<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/deepstateblog.org\/2019\/12\/04\/rip-fred-hampton-black-panther-assassinated-by-the-fbi\/\">opponents<\/a>, corruption of its <a href=\"https:\/\/crooksandliars.com\/2019\/01\/how-corruption-forensic-science-harming\">Forensic Lab <\/a>and a <a href=\"https:\/\/vault.fbi.gov\/cointel-pro\">COINTEL<\/a> program against American citizens. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>It is ironic that some of the FBI\u2019s Congressional supporters are now recipients of that corruption.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In response to Barr\u2019s statement regarding the IG Report,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>former Attorney General Erik Holder who once referred to himself as \u201c<b><i>still<\/i> <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/eric-holder-who-once-called-himself-obamas-wingman-calls-out-barr-for-being-controlled-by-trump\"><b><i>Obama\u2019s wing man<\/i><\/b><\/a><b><i>,<\/i><\/b><span class=\"s2\"><b><i> so i\u2019m there with my boy<\/i><\/b><\/span><b>,<\/b>\u201d wrote a divisive op-ed for the Washington Post provocatively entitled \u201c<i>Eric Holder: <\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/eric-holder-william-barr-is-unfit-to-be-attorney-general\/2019\/12\/11\/99882092-1c55-11ea-87f7-f2e91143c60d_story.html\"><i>William Barr is Unfit to be Attorney General<\/i><\/a><i>.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s5\">In a classic example of covering one\u2019s butt, it can be assumed that Holder is still protecting Obama\u2019s wing as he took cheap shots at Barr<\/span><span class=\"s6\"> for a \u201c<i>series of public statements and taken actions that are so <\/i><\/span><span class=\"s7\"><i>plainly ideological, so\u00a0nakedly partisan\u00a0and so deeply inappropriate<\/i>\u201d making him \u2018<i>unfit to lead the Justice Department.<\/i><\/span><span class=\"s6\">\u201d <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Suffering a partisan anxiety attack, Holder has clearly been directed to slander a predecessor who exhibits more candor and principle than he himself demonstrated as AG.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s6\">Given the IG report\u2019s otherwise thorough analysis, the Hope and Change crowd may be feeling the heat that those morning tete-a-tete intel briefings in the <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s8\">Oval Office may have included updates on Crossfire Hurricane. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Holder\u2019s condescension, as if he had special privilege to pontificate on \u201ccareer public servants,\u2019 falls flat with his <span class=\"s2\">thinly veiled threat to Durham<\/span>:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>\u201c<\/b><span class=\"s2\"><i>I was troubled by his unusual statement disputing the inspector general\u2019s findings. Good reputations are hard-won in the legal profession, but they are fragile; anyone in Durham\u2019s shoes would do well to remember that, in dealing with this administration, many reputations have been irrevocably lost.<\/i><\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">With focus now on whether Durham will succumb to Holder\u2019s warning may instead <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>boomerang, inspiring Durham to dig deeper than he had previously planned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The IG Report cited former FBI Director Jim Comey for \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/policy-and-politics\/2018\/6\/14\/17465218\/james-comey-inspector-general-report-fbi\"><span class=\"s2\"><i>clearly and dramatically<\/i><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s2\">\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>departing from department norms<\/span> in the investigation of HRC\u2019s email server and that he made a \u201c<span class=\"s2\"><i>serious error of judgment<\/i>\u201d<\/span> in sending a letter to Congress announcing the re-opening of the Clinton probe. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Comey was fired from the FBI for \u2018insubordinate\u2019 acts<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>and \u2018dangerous\u2019 behavior in deceiving the FISA Court.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">When asked by CNN\u2019s Anderson Cooper,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u201cWhen you read what the report<\/i> <i>said<\/i>, <i>d<\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/videos\/politics\/2019\/12\/10\/james-comey-ig-report-trump-anderson-cooper-intv-ac360-bts-vpx.cnn\"><i>o you think this is a vindication<\/i><\/a><i>?<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Comey responded<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201c<i>I<\/i><span class=\"s2\"><i>t is<\/i><\/span><i>. The FBI has had to wait two years while the President and his supporters <\/i><span class=\"s2\"><i>lied about the institution[<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>finally the truth gets told.<\/i><\/span><i>\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Apparently Comey had not read the Report in its entirety, not listened to Horowitz\u2019s testimony to the Senate or he continues to live under a rock.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/video\/2019\/12\/11\/full_interview_ag_bill_barr_criticizes_inspector_general_report_on_the_russia_investigation.html\">interview<\/a> with NBC News Pete Williams,<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Barr explained that \u201c<span class=\"s2\">One of the problems in the IG investigation is that<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><b><i>Comey refused to sign back up for his security clearance and therefore could not be questioned (<\/i>by the IG<i>) on classified matters.<\/i><\/b>..<\/span> so <span class=\"s2\">someone like Durham can compel testimony<\/span>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\"><span class=\"s6\">In other words, Comey is shrewd enough to know how to deliberately avoid pertinent questions from Horowitz without implicating himself but the day will come when Durham has the legal authority to demand Comey\u2019s full participation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In a F<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1yfXxeJn3Tc\">ox News Sunday<\/a> interview with Chris Wallace, Comey refused to accept and was significantly at odds with many of the IG most significant findings including denial of any personal role in Crossfire.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u201cI<i> didn\u2019t know, As Director I am not kept informed on the details of an investigation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>I didn\u2019t know the particulars<\/i> <i>with an agency of 38,000 people<\/i> \u2018<i>seven layers below<\/i><\/span><i>.<\/i>\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Wallace repeatedly pushed back with Comey remaining smooth as silk, carefully coached, as he slipped around every iota that he had any responsibility for the investigation of a President and its constitutional screw ups.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">When asked if he would resign if all these misdeeds were revealed under his watch, Comey replied \u201c<i>No, I don\u2019t think so.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><\/i><span class=\"s2\"><i>There are other mistakes I consider more consequential than this during my tenure<\/i><\/span>.\u201d <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Pray, we await those revelations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Renee Parsons<\/b> has been a member of the ACLU\u2019s Florida State Board of Directors and President of the ACLU Treasure Coast Chapter. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>She has been an elected public official in Colorado, an environmental lobbyist with Friends of the Earth and staff member in the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>She can be found on Twitter @reneedove31.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The IG Report:\u00a0 Malfeasance, Lies, Threats and Denials by Renee Parsons<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1989","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1989","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=1989"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1989\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=1989"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=1989"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=1989"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
