The Intercept’s Matthew Cole reports<\/a>\u00a0that retired Admiral Michael\u00a0Rogers, the former Director of the National Security Agency, has met with John Durham on multiple occasions<\/strong>, according to two people familiar with Rogers\u2019s cooperation. While the substance of those meetings is not clear,\u00a0Rogers has cooperated voluntarily<\/strong>, several people with knowledge of the matter said.<\/p>\n While Durham has\u00a0reportedly\u00a0<\/a>recently\u00a0sought former CIA Director John Brennan’s emails, call logs, and other documents from the C.I.A.<\/strong>, Cole notes that Rogers\u2019s voluntary participation, which has not been previously reported, makes him\u00a0the first former intelligence director known to have been interviewed<\/strong>\u00a0for the probe.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s been very cooperative,\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0one former intelligence officer who has knowledge of Rogers\u2019s meetings with the Justice Department said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n In addition to Brennan, and now Rogers, Politico and NBC News have\u00a0previously reported<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0Durham intends to interview former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.<\/strong><\/p>\n As Cole concludes,<\/a>\u00a0the Mueller probe, the recent inspector general\u2019s report, and now the Durham investigation have done little to bridge the\u00a0yawning political divide between Trump (and his supporters<\/strong>), who continue to see him as the victim of a politically motivated \u201cwitch hunt,\u201d\u00a0and career intelligence and national security officials<\/strong>, who view the Durham investigation as an effort to punish those who led U.S. efforts to investigate Russia\u2019s election meddling. In May,\u00a0Trump gave Barr the unprecedented authority to review and declassify intelligence related to the Russia investigation<\/a>, further inflaming national security veterans.<\/p>\n Durham\u2019s investigation has also sought information from foreign governments.<\/p>\n Although AG Barr said there is likely many months before Durham’s report is complete, it would appear, by the leaks of his contacts, that the federal prosecutor is narrowing in his scope on those who were really responsible for all the “mistakes” that were made.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/zh-prod-1cc738ca-7d3b-4a72-b792-20bd8d8fa069.storage.googleapis.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_desktop\/public\/inline-images\/GettyImages-959208130-1576781225-e1576781307587.jpg?itok=0ul_iji4)
