<\/picture><\/a><\/p>\nFor those who have not been paying attention to this dramafest, it\u00a0began on Monday<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0when\u00a0Republican congressman Ted Yoho reportedly called Democratic congressowman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)<\/strong>\u00a0“disgusting”\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>and\u00a0“out of her freaking mind”<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0after she asserted that the riots and looting across America was because of poverty and unemployment:<\/p>\n “Maybe this has to do with the fact that people aren’t paying their rent and are scared to pay their rent and so they go out, and they need to feed their child and they don’t have money…so they feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n During a brief exchange, Yoho reportedly committed an even worse sin by strongly swearing in a gender-specific manner at the NY congresswoman.<\/p>\n On Wednesday,<\/strong><\/u>\u00a0Yolo apologized on the floor of the House for the “abrupt nature of the conversation” but neither admitted or denied the profanity.<\/p>\n \u201cHaving been married for 45 years with two daughters, I\u2019m very cognizant of my language.\u00a0<\/strong>Offensive name-calling words attributed to me by the press were never spoken to my colleague, and if they were construed that way,\u00a0I apologize for their misunderstanding.<\/strong> I cannot apologize for my passion, for loving my God, my family and my country,\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n \u201cI cannot apologize for my passion\u201d \u2014 @RepTedYoho<\/a>\u2019s \u201capology\u201d to AOC pic.twitter.com\/Bh30Phu8zp<\/a><\/p>\n — Aaron Rupar (@atrupar) July 22, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
