Michael Rogers, former director of the National Security Agency, has been cooperating with the Justice Department\u2019s probe into the origins of the counterintelligence investigation of the Trump presidential campaign\u2019s alleged ties to Russia, according to four people familiar with Rogers\u2019s participation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Rogers has met the prosecutor leading the probe, Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham, on multiple occasions, according to two people familiar with Rogers\u2019s cooperation.<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>While the substance of those meetings is not clear, Rogers has cooperated voluntarily, several people with knowledge of the matter said.<\/p>\n<p>Rogers, who retired in May 2018, did not respond to requests for comment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>[\u2026] Rogers\u2019s voluntary participation, which has not been previously reported, makes him the first former intelligence director known to have been interviewed for the probe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s been very cooperative,\u201d one former intelligence officer who has knowledge of Rogers\u2019s meetings with the Justice Department said.\u00a0 (<a href=\"https:\/\/theintercept.com\/2019\/12\/20\/michael-rogers-nsa-trump-russia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">read more<\/a>)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>BACKSTORY:<\/strong>\u00a0 When Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/theconservativetreehouse.com\/2017\/03\/29\/understanding-the-nunes-paradox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">explained his concerns<\/a>\u00a0in March 2017 -about what he saw from a review of 2016 intelligence gathering, reporting and subsequent unmasking- the issue behind his concern was clouded in mystery. Indeed the larger headlines at the time were about demanding a special prosecutor and driving the Russia conspiracy narrative.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">1.) \u2026\u201dOn numerous occasions the [Obama] intelligence community incidentally collected information about U.S. citizens involved in the Trump transition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">2.)\u00a0 \u201cDetails about U.S. persons associated with the incoming administration; details with little or no apparent foreign intelligence value were widely disseminated in intelligence community reporting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">3.) \u201cThird, I have confirmed that additional names of Trump transition members were unmasked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">4.) \u201cFourth and finally, I want to be clear; none of this surveillance was related to Russia, or the investigation of Russian activities.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cThe House Intelligence Committee will thoroughly investigate surveillance and its subsequent dissemination, to determine a few things here that I want to read off:\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u201cWho was aware of it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u201cWhy it was not disclosed to congress?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u201cWho requested and authorized the additional unmasking?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u201cWhether anyone directed the intelligence community to focus on Trump associates?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u201cAnd whether any laws, regulations or procedures were violated?\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u201cI have asked the Directors of the FBI, NSA and CIA to expeditiously comply with my March 15th (2017) letter -that you all received a couple of weeks ago- and to provide a full account of these surveillance activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>~ Devin Nunes, 2017<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Immediately after Nunes expressed those concerns during a press conference the media went bananas and Nunes became target #1.<\/p>\n<p>In hindsight, and with information from our assembled timelines of 2016 though today, we can now revisit those March 2017 concerns expressed by Chairman Nunes with a great deal more perspective and information. Specifically item #17 which includes the unauthorized upstream data collection of U.S. individuals within NSA surveillance through the use of \u201cAbout Query\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Section 702 \u2013 Item #17 \u201cAbout Queries\u201d are specifically the collection of electronic messaging, emails and upstream phone call surveillance data of U.S. persons.<\/p>\n<p>The public doesn\u2019t discover this issue, and Director Rogers action,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judicialwatch.org\/document-archive\/top-secret-fisa-court-order\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0until May 2017<\/a>\u00a0when we learn that Rogers told the FISA court he became aware of unlawful surveillance and collection of U.S. persons.<\/p>\n<p>Put into context, with the full back-story, it appears that 2016 surveillance was the political surveillance, the stuff Chairman Nunes was questioning. The dates here are important as they tell a story.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of Rogers suspecting FISA 702(17) surveillance activity was being used for reasons he deemed unlawful, in mid 2016 Rogers ordered the NSA compliance officer to run a full audit on 702 NSA compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Again, 702 is basically spying on Americans; the actual \u201cspying\u201d part is 702. These were violations of the fourth amendment (search and seizure), ie searches, privacy violations, and surveillance without a warrant.\u00a0 As an outcome of the notification Rogers initiated a full compliance audit and then blocked all contractor access to the NSA database on April 18,2016, while the audit was ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Admiral Rogers was briefed on the audit results by the compliance officer on\u00a0<strong>October 20th, 2016<\/strong>.\u00a0 Admiral Mike Rogers ordered all \u201cAbout Query\u201d activity to be disabled, reported the activity to the DOJ, and then went to the FISA court.<\/p>\n<p>On\u00a0<strong>October 26th, 2016<\/strong>, full FISA court assembled, NSA Director Rogers personally informed the court of the 702(17) violations.\u00a0 Additionally, and as an outcome of the NSA systems inability to guarantee integrity, Rogers also stopped \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsa.gov\/news-features\/press-room\/statements\/2017-04-28-702-statement.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">About Query<\/a>\u201d permanently.<\/p>\n<p>[<strong>Things to note:<\/strong>\u00a0&#x2666;Note the sequencing; &#x2666;note that Rogers a career military person, followed the chain of command; &#x2666;note the dates as they align with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/theconservativetreehouse.com\/2017\/12\/28\/the-mistresses-of-mirrored-halls-looking-at-the-corrupt-doj-side-of-operation-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trump FISA application<\/a>\u00a0from the FBI and DOJ-NSD, (ie. early\u00a0<strong>October 2016<\/strong>); &#x2666;and note amid this sequence\/time-line the head of DOJ-National Security Divsion, John P Carlin\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/national-security\/head-of-justice-departments-national-security-division-to-step-down\/2016\/09\/27\/59cb95c4-84e6-11e6-ac72-a29979381495_story.html?tid=ss_tw&amp;utm_term=.48e8327bde1f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">resigns.<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT \u2013 WATCH The first two and a half minutes of this video:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CIJGH9RS2Fc?version=3&amp;rel=1&amp;fs=1&amp;autohide=2&amp;showsearch=0&amp;showinfo=1&amp;iv_load_policy=1&amp;wmode=transparent\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the part where we find criminal intent and malice aforethought.<\/p>\n<p>By looking at the way the FISA court was notified, it becomes apparent the DOJ National Security Division set Admiral Mike Rogers up to take the fall for their unlawful conduct.<\/p>\n<p>Asst. Attorney General in charge of the DOJ National Security Division, John P Carlin, preempted Rogers by filing a notification with the FISA Court on\u00a0<strong>26th September 2016<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/349542716\/Top-Secret-FISA-Court-Order-President-Obama-Spying-on-Political-Enemies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">look at the pdf<\/a>).\u00a0 DOJ-NSD head John Carlin was setting up Rogers as the scapegoat while knowing the NSA FISA compliance officer was still reviewing their conduct.<\/p>\n<p>According to what we know of the FISA warrant, right around the time the DOJ lawyers formatted the FBI information (Steele Dossier etc.) for the FISA Application, the head of the NSD, Asst. Attorney General John P Carlin,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/national-security\/head-of-justice-departments-national-security-division-to-step-down\/2016\/09\/27\/59cb95c4-84e6-11e6-ac72-a29979381495_story.html?tid=ss_tw&amp;utm_term=.48e8327bde1f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0left his job<\/a>.\u00a0 It would have specifically been John Carlin\u2019s responsibility to ensure a valid legal basis for the firs Carter Page FISA application submitted to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.<\/p>\n<p>The timing is way too suspicious.\u00a0 DOJ-NSD Director Carlin wouldn\u2019t notify the court of a FISA compliance issue, while a compliance review was ongoing, unless he was trying to cover something. Conspicuously John Carlin never informed Admiral Rogers, but rather\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/national-security\/head-of-justice-departments-national-security-division-to-step-down\/2016\/09\/27\/59cb95c4-84e6-11e6-ac72-a29979381495_story.html?tid=ss_tw&amp;utm_term=.48e8327bde1f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announced his resignation<\/a>.\u00a0 The NSA compliance officer did not brief Admiral Rogers until\u00a0<strong>20th Oct 2016<\/strong>. Admiral Rogers notified the FISC on\u00a0<strong>26th Oct 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 2016<\/strong>\u00a0is a very important month:<\/p>\n<p>&#x2666;DOJ Deputy Attorney Bruce Ohr was \u201c<em>demoted<\/em>\u201d in the summer of 2017 after the Inspector General discovered\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2017\/12\/07\/top-doj-official-demoted-amid-probe-contacts-with-trump-dossier-firm.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unreported 2016 contacts<\/a>\u00a0between Ohr and Russian Dossier author Christopher Steele,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2017\/12\/07\/top-doj-official-demoted-amid-probe-contacts-with-trump-dossier-firm.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">as well as contact<\/a>\u00a0with Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson, that happened\u00a0<strong>in October 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#x2666;Also in<strong>\u00a0October 2016<\/strong>\u00a0the DOJ lawyers\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalreview.com\/article\/443768\/obama-fisa-trump-wiretap\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">formatted the FBI information<\/a>\u00a0(Steele Dossier etc.) for the Trump FISA application; the head of the NSD, Asst. Attorney General John P Carlin,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/national-security\/head-of-justice-departments-national-security-division-to-step-down\/2016\/09\/27\/59cb95c4-84e6-11e6-ac72-a29979381495_story.html?tid=ss_tw&amp;utm_term=.48e8327bde1f\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u00a0left his job<\/a>. It would have specifically been John Carlin\u2019s responsibility to ensure a valid legal basis for the FISA application submitted to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC).<\/p>\n<p>The chief legal counsel for the DOJ-NSD at the time was Michael Atkinson; in 2019 Atkinson is now the ICIG who brought the fraudulent whistleblower complaint forward.<\/p>\n<p>&#x2666;<strong>In October 2016<\/strong>\u00a0the NSA compliance officer completes a review and briefs Rogers of FISA(17) violations, email collection and phone surveillance. Rogers informs FISC \u2013 [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/349542716\/Top-Secret-FISA-Court-Order-President-Obama-Spying-on-Political-Enemies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FISA Court Ruling Link<\/a>]<\/p>\n<p>Also\u00a0<strong>October 2016<\/strong>: On Friday November 18th, 2016,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/national-security\/pentagon-and-intelligence-community-chiefs-have-urged-obama-to-remove-the-head-of-the-nsa\/2016\/11\/19\/44de6ea6-adff-11e6-977a-1030f822fc35_story.html?utm_term=.b82f16d866de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Washington Post reported<\/a>\u00a0<strong>on a recommendation in \u201cOctober\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0that Mike Rogers be removed from his NSA position:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The heads of the Pentagon and the nation\u2019s intelligence community have recommended to President Obama that the director of the National Security Agency, Adm. Michael S. Rogers, be removed.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendation, delivered to the White House\u00a0<strong>last month<\/strong>, was made by\u00a0<strong>Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter and Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr<\/strong>., according to several U.S. officials familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n<p>[\u2026] In a move apparently unprecedented for a military officer,\u00a0<strong>Rogers, without notifying superiors, traveled to New York to meet with Trump on Thursday at Trump Tower<\/strong>. That caused consternation at senior levels of the administration, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal personnel matters. DOJ Attorney Lisa Page was the intermediary between the DOJ National Security Division and he FBI Counterintelligence Division.<\/p>\n<p>In an effort to stop the FISA 702(17) activity NSA Director Mike Rogers initiated a full 702 compliance review. However, before the review was complete the DOJ-NSD had enough information for their unlawful FISA warrant which worked retroactively to make the prior FBI surveillance (began in July \u201916 per James Comey) lawful.\u00a0 Mike Rogers stopped the FISA702(17) process completely on October 26th 2016. Rogers likely informs President-elect Trump of the prior activity by the FBI and DOJ, including the probability that all of Trump Tower\u2019s email and phone communication was under surveillance.<\/p>\n<p>&#x2666;<strong>\u00a0On November 17th, 2016<\/strong>, NSA Director\u00a0<strong>Admiral Mike Rogers<\/strong>\u00a0went to see President-Elect Donald Trump in Trump Tower, New York. \u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/theconservativetreehouse.com\/2017\/03\/03\/occams-razor-did-nsa-admiral-mike-rogers-warn-trump-on-november-17th-2016\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SEE HERE<\/a>\u2013 Director Rogers never told his boss DNI, James Clapper or anyone else in the intelligence community.<\/p>\n<p>&#x2666;\u00a0<strong>On November 18th, 2016<\/strong>, the Trump Transition Team announced they were moving all transition activity to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. \u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2016\/nov\/17\/donald-trump-moves-transition-meetings-private-gol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SEE HERE<\/a>\u2013 Where they interviewed and discussed the most sensitive positions to fill. Defense, State, CIA, ODNI.<\/p>\n<p>The transition team was set up in Trump Tower. The very next day, November 18th 2016, Trump\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2016\/nov\/17\/donald-trump-moves-transition-meetings-private-gol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">moves the entire transition team<\/a>\u00a0to Bedminister New Jersey?<\/p>\n<p>The information the FBI collected, and the stuff Fusion GPS was creating via Christopher Steele, was used to create the Russian Narrative and also to manipulate the FISC into giving them a FISA warrant. ie. \u201cThe Insurance Policy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the people within all of these intercepts is what Devin Nunes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/theconservativetreehouse.com\/2017\/03\/29\/understanding-the-nunes-paradox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">discovered<\/a>\u00a0when he looked at the \u201cunmasking requests\u201d which were a result of those FISA 702(17) collections on Team Trump. That\u2019s why Devin Nunes was\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/theconservativetreehouse.com\/2017\/03\/29\/understanding-the-nunes-paradox\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">so stunned at what he saw<\/a>\u00a0in February and March 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Back to FISA Judge Collyer.<\/p>\n<p>On October 26th, 2016, NSA Director Rogers wouldn\u2019t know what Collyer knew about the FBI requesting a surveillance warrant on Carter Page and by extension the Trump campaign. However, Collyer would be putting the briefing about database searches together with her knowledge of the FISA application she authorized.<\/p>\n<p>In her mind, those Trump Tower searches would likely be part of the arc of the FBI investigation. To FISC Judge Collyer everything may seem to be in the lane of legal, albeit stretched on the database (FISA-702) searches, up and until she is informed the underlying evidence for the FISA application was built on FBI fraud and misrepresentations to the court in 2019 by IG Horowitz.<\/p>\n<p>Now, it\u2019s all out in the open and no longer subject to opinion.<\/p>\n<p>After the DOJ inspector general informs, positively affirms, Judge Collyer was purposely misled into cooperating with, and authorizing, a fraudulent FBI investigation\u2026. well, now Collyer is also likely rethinking those Trump Tower searches Director Rogers told her about back in 2016.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">FISA Court news: Judge Rosemary Collyer, who I am told has health issues, will step down early as presiding judge &amp; Chief Justice Roberts has tapped Judge James Boasberg to take over that role in the new year.
