Hollywood star George Clooney has downplayed claims that the foundation he funds\u00a0with his wife, Amal, is planning to seek the arrest of\u00a0\u201cRussian propagandists.\u201d<\/em><\/h3>\n

The actor was responding\u00a0to remarks by Anna Neistat, legal director of The Docket,\u00a0a unit focused on journalism\u00a0sponsored by the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ). Neistat, who is Soviet-born, has held senior positions in Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.<\/h3>\n

In an interview last week with the Russian-language version of the US government-funded media outlet Voice of America, Neistat claimed her team is working to secure arrest warrants for Russian media professionals for alleged\u00a0\u201cincitement to genocide\u201d<\/em>\u00a0in Ukraine and is seeking a nation willing to prosecute Russians based on\u00a0\u201cpropaganda of aggressive war.\u201d<\/em><\/h3>\n
