A former\u00a0Saudi<\/a>\u00a0minister of state and intelligence official has filed an explosive lawsuit against Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), Crown Prince of the Kingdom of\u00a0Saudi Arabia<\/a>, alleging that he \u201corchestrated an ongoing multi-year conspiracy by a Saudi government-sanctioned \u2018death squad\u2019 to torture and assassinate\u201d the ex-intel officer on both U.S. and Canadian soil.<\/p>\n The plaintiff, Dr. Saad Aljabri, who is characterized in the complaint as a \u201ctrusted partner of U.S. intelligence officials,\u201d claims that the Saudi leader first dispatched a 50-person kill team dubbed the \u201ctiger squad\u201d in October 2018 \u2013 just two weeks after the murder of Saudi dissident\u00a0Jamal Khashoggi<\/a>\u00a0in Turkey \u2013 to Ontario, Canada, with an intention to take him out.<\/p>\n \u201cThe \u2018Tiger Squad\u2019 that was deployed to Canada included forensic personnel experienced with the clean-up of crime scenes, who carried with them two bags of forensic tools,\u201d the suit alleges. \u201cThe kill team was thwarted by attentive Canadian border security officials who were suspicious of their behavior at an airport checkpoint.\u201d<\/p>\n The complaint goes on to paint a\u00a0horrific portrait<\/a>\u00a0of the \u201cTiger Squad\u2019s\u201d kidnapping and disappearance of Aljabri\u2019s two children, attempts by squad operatives to lure Aljabri to locations \u201cwhere he could be killed \u2014 including back to Saudi Arabia and the targeting of Dr. Saad through Interpol with baseless corruption charges.\u201d<\/p>\n Following this failed assassination attempt, the lawsuit alleges that the Crown Prince put out a \u201cfatwa<\/a>\u201d on Aljabri and that he now plans to send agents to enter Canada \u201cby land\u201d directly through the United States to, once and for all, \u201celiminate him.\u201d<\/p>\n According to a source close to the former intel official, who was let go from his position in late 2015 and defected from the country in early 2017, his children have also been caught up in the ordeal. While six are out of Saudi Arabia, \u201ctwo of Dr. Saad\u2019s adult children who remain de facto hostages at an undisclosed location in the Kingdom\u201d and family advocates contend that there is \u201csignificant reason to fear for their safety.\u201d<\/p>\n The complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia under the Torture Victims Protection Act and the Alien Tort Statute \u201cfor MBS\u2019s role in the attempted murder and torture of Dr. Saad.\u201d<\/p>\n In conjunction with the suit filing on Thursday, the family also launched a website,\u00a0Savejabris.com<\/a>, aimed at raising awareness about their missing children.<\/p>\n \u201cThe lawsuit is really a last resort, it is a culmination of everything the family has been going through for almost three years,\u201d the source working closely with the Aljabri family told Fox News. \u201cIt is a bizarre story. Dr. Saad was considered a guy who knows too much, had some disagreements with MBS, and who needed to be out of the way.\u201d<\/p>\n The kingdom\u2019s embassy in Washington, D.C., did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Aljabri remains in Toronto, Canada.<\/p>\n
