READ HERE:<\/strong><\/a> The UK’s\u00a0<\/a>largest pension fund has sold off \u00a380m ($101m) in assets linked to\u00a0Israel\u00a0<\/a>amid internal pressure from members, the Financial Times has reported.<\/h3>\n

The Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) manages investments totalling \u00a379bn in total and has more than 500,000 members who work for universities and higher education institutions in the UK.<\/h3>\n

Pressure has grown on the fund to withdraw its Israeli investments in light of the ongoing war on Gaza and Israel’s longstanding occupation of\u00a0Palestinian\u00a0<\/a>land.<\/h3>\n

At least, 40,000\u00a0Palestinians\u00a0<\/a>have been killed in Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza, the vast majority of them women and children.<\/h3>\n

The country faces genocide charges at the International Court of Justice, which has also ruled that the occupation of Palestinian land is\u00a0unlawful<\/a>.<\/h3>\n
