{"id":25138,"date":"2020-08-17T16:21:43","date_gmt":"2020-08-17T20:21:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=25138"},"modified":"2020-08-17T16:21:50","modified_gmt":"2020-08-17T20:21:50","slug":"blockchain-the-secret-to-a-truly-secure-voting-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=25138","title":{"rendered":"BLOCKCHAIN: The Secret to a Truly Secure Voting System"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>The USPS Just Filed A Patent For A Blockchain-Based Secure-Voting System<\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->ZeroHedge.com<\/p>\n<p>It looks like the United States Post Office is getting in the business of voting.<\/p>\n<p>It has recently been unearthed that he USPS\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/appft.uspto.gov\/netacgi\/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&amp;Sect2=HITOFF&amp;d=PG01&amp;p=1&amp;u=\/netahtml\/PTO\/srchnum.html&amp;r=1&amp;f=G&amp;l=50&amp;s1=20200258338.PGNR.&amp;OS=&amp;RS=\">filed for a patent<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0February 7, 2020 for a &#8220;Secure Voting System&#8221; that uses a blockchain access layer. is listed as the applicant on the application.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Voters generally wish to be able to vote for elected officials or on other issues in a manner that is convenient and secure,&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0the application says.\u00a0&#8220;Further, those holding elections wish to be able to ensure that election results have not been tampered with and that the results actually correspond to the votes that were cast.\u00a0<strong>In some embodiments, a blockchain allows the tracking of the various types of necessary data in a way that is secure and allows others to easily confirm that data has not been altered.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Equally as interesting as the patent itself is the fact that the application was filed\u00a0<em>before the coronavirus had wreaked total havoc on the country\u00a0<\/em>and long before the idea of mail in voting was being tossed around by pundits and the mainstream media on the daily.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Roemmele pointed the discovery out on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BrianRoemmele\/status\/1294347027422179329\">Twitter<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Boom!<\/p>\n<p>The US Postal Service just filed this new patent:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSECURE VOTING SYSTEM\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It uses Blockchain of course but also the prospects of:<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Read this deeply, it says a lot about a lot of things ahead.<\/p>\n<p>This is past \u201cpolitics\u201d\u2014report to clients. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/pl482rq4bn\">https:\/\/t.co\/pl482rq4bn<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/zYs07YEAsQ\">pic.twitter.com\/zYs07YEAsQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash;
