I want to stay out of it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside id=\"in-content-1\" class=\"placement placement-embedded\"><\/aside>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Wearing an American flag baseball cap, Gelinas said that QAnon is a \u201cpatriotic movement to save the country.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hours after the initial contact from Bloomberg News, the website was no longer accessible. &#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2020-09-11\/qanon-website-shuts-down-after-n-j-man-identified-as-operator?sref=ZMFHsM5Z\">Bloomberg<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>How did <em>Logically<\/em> track down Gelinas?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to their report, the website used a now-deleted Facebook post to track him down via email.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our investigation can reveal that QAPPANON is not Watkins, <strong>but instead a New Jersey man in his forties with prominent roles in technical analysis and IT security for the banking sector<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<aside id=\"in-content-2\" class=\"placement placement-embedded\"><\/aside>\n<p><strong>QAPPANON\u2019s email address was initially discovered during our investigation into QMap\u2019s translation efforts<\/strong> and international reach. A now-deleted Facebook post allowed us to trace the email to a CNET download cache for the QMap app as well as a new app in development called Armor of God.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"hs_cos_wrapper_post_body\" class=\"hs_cos_wrapper hs_cos_wrapper_meta_field hs_cos_wrapper_type_rich_text\" data-hs-cos-general-type=\"meta_field\" data-hs-cos-type=\"rich_text\">An extraction of QAPPANON\u2019s email address from the URL led to their developer profile and list of created apps on CNET.
