California Puts Out Geoengineered Arson-started Cave Fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Southern California gets a white Thanksgiving with several inches of snow<\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->By Amanda Woods<br \/>\nNew York Post<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/players.brightcove.net\/4137224153001\/ed38fae1-4db1-4308-8095-399a04010bc1_default\/index.html?videoId=6110411869001\" width=\"618\" height=\"348\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It was a white Thanksgiving in Southern California, as a \u201cweather whiplash\u201d storm dumped several inches of snow in some regions \u2014 and helped to extinguish a wildfire, according to a new report.<\/p>\n<p>Up to 8 inches of snow fell in some parts of the Antelope Valley, at the western tip of the Mojave Desert,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2019-11-28\/a-white-thanksgiving-in-the-high-desert-as-snow-falls-in-antelope-valley-elsewhere\">The Los Angeles Times reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last two days, Lancaster has seen 4 to 5 inches of snow and 3 inches fell in nearby Palmdale, the paper reported.<\/p>\n<p>Part of Interstate 5 was also closed amid heavy snow, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>The snow helped extinguish a blaze known as the Cave Fire in Santa Barbara County that had threatened homes earlier in the week, authorities\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2019-11-28\/interstate-5-through-the-grapevine-closed-by-snow-as-new-storm-pounds-southern-california\">told the outlet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is just really unique. We\u2019ve never had fire with active snowfall near the point of origin. It\u2019s very unusual,\u201d county fire department spokesman Mike Eliason told the outlet. \u201cIt was a very thankful moment. Thankful that no one got injured, no one lost their home. That the snow came over heavy rain. THIS IS AMAZING!!!! It\u2019s SOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople are excited about snow in California,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/_myashimizu\/status\/1200097024286134273\">another user shared<\/a>. \u201cTHATS SCARY AS HELL.
