The entire world\u00a0 <\/span>now knows, as reported by the NY Time<\/i>s,\u00a0 <\/span>that President Donald Trump personally<\/a> \u201copted for the most extreme<\/i>\u201d option <\/span>as he ordered the assassination of Iranian Gen. Qaseem Souleimani.\u00a0 <\/span>In an article entitled \u201cAs Tensions with Iran Escalated, Trump Opts for the Most Extreme Measure<\/i><\/span><\/a>,\u201d<\/i> <\/i>the Times reported that \u201cT<\/i>op Pentagon military officials were \u2018flabbergasted\u2019 at Trump\u2019s decision<\/i>\u201d <\/span>even as the level of\u00a0 <\/span>\u2018imminent\u2019 a<\/i>ttacks on US personnel was speculative and unconfirmed. \u00a0 <\/span><\/i>Other options identified were strikes on Iranian ships or missile facilities or against Iranian-backed militia groups in Iraq.<\/p>\n It was further reported that \u201cWhen Mr. Trump chose the option of killing General Suleimani, <\/i>top military officials, flabbergasted, were immediately alarmed about the prospect of Iranian retaliatory strikes on American troops in the region.<\/i><\/span> It is unclear if General Milley or Mr. Esper pushed back on the president\u2019s decision.\u201d<\/i> VP Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, however, each representing the Prince of Peace, argued for a hawkish response to \u201cIranian aggression.\u201d <\/i><\/p>\n It is true that Iran has been a thorn in the US side since 1953<\/a>\u00a0 <\/span>when the CIA overthrew the democratically elected government of Mossadegh who refused to recognize the Empire\u2019s right to steal Iranian petroleum as he nationalized the country\u2019s energy sector.\u00a0 <\/span>Iran has never been a military threat to America and, like every other middle east country, neither is it willing to kneel to the American Empire.<\/p>\n Thin skinned and defensive, Trump cannot stop bragging as he exhibits no glimmer of empathy or understanding of the gravity that his decision has wreaked upon his own country and the world.\u00a0 <\/span>He seems incompetent to grasp that his bombastic speech only serves to deepen the crisis. \u00a0 <\/span>In response to Iran\u2019s \u201cforceful; revenge<\/i>\u201d promise, Trump tweeted:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201c<\/span>….targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a v<\/i><\/span>ery high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD. The USA wants no more threat<\/i><\/span>s<\/i>!<\/span> \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n In announcing the strike, Trump said:<\/p>\n \u201cWe successfully <\/i>executed a flawless precision strike<\/i><\/a> that killed the Number One terrorist anywhere in the world.<\/i> \u00a0 <\/span>Soliemani was <\/i>plotting imminent and sinister attacks on American diplomats and American personnel but we caught him in the act and terminated him<\/i><\/span>.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n And then:<\/p>\n
