Kevin McCarthy Calls For Rep. Swalwell’s Removal From Congress After Chinese-Spy Links Exposed<\/h1>\n

Update (1235ET)<\/strong><\/u>: House Minority Leader\u00a0Kevin McCarthy<\/a>\u00a0has called for Rep.\u00a0Eric Swalwell,<\/a>\u00a0who is on the House Intelligence Committee, to be \u201cremoved from Congress\u201d following allegations that he was involved with a suspected Chinese spy.<\/p>\n

McCarthy joined Fox News host Laura Ingraham on \u201cThe Ingraham Angle\u201d and asked,\u00a0\u201cWhy is he still on the Intel Committee and why is he still a member of Congress?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Mccarthy noted that the intel committee has access to information that no one else does.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemember what the intel committee gets. Information that no other members are able to see,\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>McCarthy said. \u201cAnd remember what this member did.\u00a0He was so preoccupied going after this president he was not protecting our country from bad actors.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yesterday, we reported<\/a>\u00a0on a widespread effort by China to inflitrate\u00a0people at the top of America\u2019s core inner circle of power and influence.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Most specifically that Christine Fang, also known as Fang Fang, was able to gain access to politicians through campaign fundraising, extensive networking and romantic or sexual relationships, according to Axios.\u00a0She became particularly close with Democratic California Rep. Eric Swalwell, the report noted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The extensively researched report, published by very left-leaning new media outlet\u00a0Axios<\/a>, found that\u00a0a suspected Chinese spy developed close relationships with U.S. politicians as a way to gain access to and influence U.S. political circles.<\/strong><\/p>\n

TL;DR on the Swalwell debacle (via @BryanDeanWright<\/em><\/a>):<\/p>\n

The Swalwell Scandal isn\u2019t about a one-off dalliance w\/ a Chinese spy. It\u2019s that:<\/p>\n

1) he (a married man with kids) and the woman dated,<\/p>\n

2) she bundled political cash for him,<\/p>\n

3) she seeded staff into Capitol Hill, &<\/p>\n

4) he serves on the Intel Committee.<\/p>\n

Oh, and 5) Pelosi knew about the whole damn thing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

But, Swalwell, who was one of the most outspoken lawmakers who pushed the Russia collusion narrative since Trump took office,as Fox News reports,<\/a>\u00a0is now claiming that the president was behind Axios’ explosive reporting\u00a0during an interview<\/a>\u00a0with Politico.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been a critic of the president. I\u2019ve spoken out against him. I was on both committees that worked to impeach him. The timing feels like that should be looked at,”<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0Swalwell said on Tuesday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Swalwell revealed that Axios first approached him about his ties to Fang in July 2019, which was also when he ended his short-lived presidential campaign. But\u00a0the Democratic lawmaker seemed to suggest that intelligence officials involved in Axios’ reporting were trying to “weaponize” his cooperation with authorities.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

“What it appears though that this person \u2014 as the story reports \u2014 was unsuccessful in whatever they were trying to do. But\u00a0if intelligence officials are trying to weaponize someone\u2019s cooperation, they are essentially seeking to do what this person was not able to do, which is to try and discredit someone,<\/strong>” Swalwell told Politico.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to Politico,\u00a0Swalwell “refused to discuss his relationship with Fang”\u00a0<\/strong>after Axios reported that she had sexual relations with at least two other politicians.<\/p>\n

He did, however, express confidence that he will maintain his seat on the House Intelligence Commitee.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cAs the story referenced, this goes back to the beginning of the last decade, and it\u2019s something that congressional leadership knew about it,\u201d Swalwell told Politico.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The utter desperation of Swalwell’s attempt to distract from this debacle, by claiming that President Trump was somehow behind the Axios report, is mind-numbing to all but the most cognitively dissonant Trump-hating liberal.<\/p>\n
