Prince Andrew has kept in constant contact with\u00a0accused madam Ghislaine Maxwell<\/a>\u00a0even as they both became increasingly embroiled in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, according to a report Sunday.<\/p>\n The prince\u00a0had a secret meeting<\/a>\u00a0with Epstein\u2019s ex at Buckingham Palace in June \u2014 and has been talking to her throughout the escalating scandal that saw him dumped of royal duties,\u00a0according to The Sun<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThey have remained constantly in touch by phone and email,\u201d a source told the UK paper.<\/p>\n \u201cThey talk regularly. If he wasn\u2019t in the spotlight at the moment he would have found a way to meet up with her.\u201d<\/p>\n Andrew\u2019s downfall was in part sparked by his loyalty to Epstein, 57, remaining friends and staying in his Manhattan mansion even after he was convicted of sex with underage girls.<\/p>\n Now the 59-year-old prince has remained close to Maxwell, according to The Sun, even after she is reportedly at the heart of an ongoing FBI investigation over allegations that she recruited young girls for the late pedophile.<\/p>\n \u201cAndrew has always been very stubborn and as far as he is concerned both he and Ghislaine have done nothing wrong and so why should anything get in the way of a friendship that has lasted more than 20 years,\u201d the source told the paper.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Duke has an unswerving loyalty to Ghislaine and\u00a0she is also very loyal to him<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cGhislaine will do anything to protect the Duke and the feeling is mutual. They both share the same view they have done nothing wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n The pair are said to be nervously awaiting\u00a0a Monday night TV special<\/a>\u00a0with Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who has said in court filings that she was forced to have sex with Andrew three times, including at Maxwell\u2019s London home.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone is on tenterhooks especially after the backlash to the Duke\u2019s \u2018Newsnight\u2019 interview \u2013 no one saw the fall-out from that coming, especially the Duke,\u201d a source told The Sun.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s fair to say everyone is nervously chewing their lips at Buckingham Palace to see what she will say.\u201d<\/p>\n Buckingham Palace has repeatedly denied all the allegations against him. Andrew also denied them during his BBC interview, saying he does not even recall meeting Giuffre and\u00a0suggesting the photo of them together could be fake<\/a>.<\/p>\n
