5G: The Dominoes Are Starting To Fall<\/h1>\n

Long-time United Nations staff member Claire Edwards summarizes worldwide developments in the 5G situation. While still far from a victory claim, there is much to be hopeful about as millions around the world deepen involvement and take a stand for our shared future.<\/strong><\/p>\n

UPDATE 17 APRIL 2019:\u00a0<\/strong>In Switzerland, some cantonal governments have blocked the granting of permits for new antennas or have adopted a 5G moratorium.\u00a0But the telecoms bought the 5G licenses from the federal government,\u00a0<\/strong>so they\u2019re\u00a0using their existing antennas to start deploying 5G<\/a>. Greater grassroots involvement is needed. The updates we have provided were not a victory call \u2014 but rather a reason to hope and a call to\u00a0join the movement on the ground where you live.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How do you stop the rollout of a\u00a012 trillion dollar technology<\/a>\u00a0promoted by one of the most profitable industries on the planet and bulldozed through by the\u00a0EU<\/a>,\u00a0FCC<\/a>\u00a0and the whole\u00a0UN<\/a>, most notably its WiFi enablers,\u00a0WHO<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0ITU<\/a>?<\/p>\n

Many people have said it\u2019s impossible. But even as the Trump administration\u00a0attempts to ram through 5G<\/a>\u00a0in the United States, the dominoes are indeed falling around the world, as cities and entire nations are coming to their senses and putting the brakes on 5G.<\/p>\n

Lawmakers hitting the brakes on 5G:<\/h2>\n

USA, 24 March:<\/strong><\/td>\nPortland Oregon city officials\u00a0state clear opposition<\/a>\u00a0to the installation of 5G networks around the city, supported by the mayor and two commissioners.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Italy, 28 March:<\/strong><\/td>\nFlorence\u00a0applies the precautionary principle<\/a>, refusing permissions for 5G and referring to \u201cthe ambiguity and the uncertainty of supranational bodies and private bodies (like\u00a0ICNIRP<\/a>)\u201d, which \u201chave very different positions from each other, despite the huge evidence of published studies\u201d.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Italy, 28 March:<\/strong><\/td>\nOne Roman district\u00a0votes against 5G trials<\/a>, with others expected to follow. Other motions to Stop 5G are expected in the four regional councils, one provincial council and other municipal councils of Italy.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Russia, 28 March:<\/strong><\/td>\nThe Russian Ministry of Defence\u00a0refuses to transfer frequencies for 5G<\/a>, which effectively delays any 5G rollout there for several years.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Belgium, 31 March:<\/strong><\/td>\nThe Belgian Environment Minister announces that Brussels is\u00a0halting its 5G rollout plans<\/a>, saying, \u201cThe people of Brussels are not guinea pigs whose health I can sell at a profit.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Germany, 4 April:<\/strong><\/td>\nGermans sign a petition en masse to\u00a0force the German Bundestag to debate 5G<\/a>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Netherlands, 4 April:<\/strong><\/td>\nMembers of Parliament in the Netherlands\u00a0insist that radiation research must be carried out<\/a>\u00a0before any approval of the 5G network.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
USA, 5 April:<\/strong><\/td>\nCalifornia Supreme Court Justices\u00a0unanimously uphold<\/a>\u00a0a 2011 San Francisco ordinance requiring telecommunications companies to get permits before placing antennas on city infrastructure.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Switzerland, 9 April:<\/strong><\/td>\nThe Canton of Vaud adopts a resolution calling for a\u00a0moratorium on 5G antennas<\/a>\u00a0until the publication this summer of a report on 5G by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Overcoming the roadblocks<\/h2>\n

For me, it has always seemed an\u00a0information problem<\/strong>. If the public simply understood the existential threat posed by\u00a0adopting a military weapon<\/a>\u00a0as a communications technology, they would not accept it.<\/p>\n

The challenge of informing people is twofold. The\u00a0name \u201c5G\u201d is deceptive<\/strong>, implying a simple upgrade from the current 4G or fourth generation wireless.\u00a0[And many WiFi routers now display \u201c5G\u201d as a mode option, but it means \u201c5GHz\u201d in that context, not actual \u201c5G\u201d \u2014 an industry ploy to normalize the term\u2019s acceptance through intentional obfuscation. -Ed.]<\/em><\/p>\n

This ruse cleverly disguises the reality that 5G means densification, with each individual, visible antenna being replaced by thousands of tiny antennas menacing people, animals and nature from every nook and cranny on Earth and from 20,000 or more satellites with lethal, laser-like beams hitting their unwitting targets millions of times a day like silent bullets.<\/p>\n

The second difficulty is the\u00a0tight control of the media<\/strong>. Hardly a whisper of negativity about 5G penetrates the public sphere, while its claimed benefits are constantly touted in puff pieces in newspapers and in numerous promotional videos.<\/p>\n

Yet in the space of only a year since we first heard about the impending catastrophe that is 5G, the message has spread virally through the alternative and social media.<\/p>\n

5G deserves the bad rap<\/h2>\n

Since\u00a0US Senator Blumenthal<\/strong>\u00a0dealt a major blow to the telecommunications industry by definitively establishing that\u00a0no safety studies have been done<\/a>, the bad news on 5G just keeps on coming. At least\u00a021 US cities<\/a>\u00a0have passed ordinances restricting \u201csmall cell\u201d installation, and many are charging \u201crecertification fees\u201d to make it unprofitable for the wireless industry.<\/p>\n

And the UK-based microwave weapons expert Barrie Trower reports that\u00a017 mystery countries<\/a>\u00a0are taking steps to avoid getting 5G.<\/p>\n

While the EU eagerly promotes the rollout of 5G, a\u00a0new EU report admits<\/a>\u00a0that 5G is a massive experiment, lamenting that:<\/p>\n

\u201c[T]he problem is that currently it is not possible to accurately simulate or measure 5G emissions in the real world \u2026 concern is emerging over the possible impact on health and safety arising from potentially much higher exposure to radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation arising from 5G.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The EU report goes on to set out the dangers:<\/p>\n

\u201cIncreased exposure may result not only from the use of much higher frequencies in 5G but also from the potential for the aggregation of different signals, their dynamic nature, and the complex interference effects that may result, especially in dense urban areas.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Meanwhile, a court in France has\u00a0recognized<\/a>\u00a0electrohypersensitivity (EHS) as an occupational disease that can be developed also from exposure to levels of radiation that are considered to be safe by the government.<\/p>\n

No one wants 5G but the telcos<\/h2>\n

5G is beginning to look like an unwanted orphan. Everyone who hears the truth about it shuns it like the plague. Even most of its proponents clearly have no love for it.<\/p>\n

In his Palm Beach neighborhood, President Trump and his fellow billionaires are\u00a0not having any of it<\/a>. None of the EU institutions in Brussels are having it (European Commission, Council of the European Union, European Council and the European Parliament). And its very enablers, the UN and its WHO and ITU are not going to be having it in Geneva, either.<\/p>\n

Watch for moratoria being declared in Washington, D.C., home to the FCC; and Munich, nearby home to ICNIRP. Either would be an obvious indicator that the game is rigged.<\/p>\n

Unless this insane 5G satellite plan is stopped, they, too, might wake up to find themselves as much guinea pigs as everyone else in this massive biological experiment.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n

But one wonders how the 5G movers and shakers will avoid the satellites, which the 5G literature boasts as being intended to \u201cblanket\u201d the Earth. Perhaps the satellite beams will avoid the areas where they live. Or perhaps not. Unless this insane 5G satellite plan is stopped, they, too, might wake up to find themselves as much guinea pigs as the rest of us in this massive biological experiment.<\/p>\n

While well over ten thousand peer-reviewed scientific studies on the biological effects of electromagnetic radiation provide a clear perspective on the unprecedented risk of 5G, the rhetoric from the corporate media would have you believe that it\u2019s the greatest thing since sliced bread. One thing we can agree on: if we were to allow 5G to go ahead, it would make history. What a pity, then, that it would leave no one standing to celebrate it.<\/p>\n
