MyPillow CEO and staunch Trump ally Mike Lindell has retained celebrity attorney\u00a0Charles Harder<\/a>\u00a0to go after the\u00a0Daily Mail\u00a0<\/em>over a story<\/a>\u00a0claiming he had a secret affair with\u00a030 Rock<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt\u00a0<\/em>star actress\u00a0Jane Krakowski<\/a>, The Daily Beast has learned.<\/p>\n \u201cCharles Harder is the attorney,\u201d Lindell confirmed in a brief interview on Friday evening. \u201cI never met this lady in my life and have never been to West Village and the Hamptons, where they said I was in the hit piece.\u201d<\/p>\n Lindell added: \u201cThey\u2019ve done so much damage to my reputation\u2026 I\u2019m not just going for a demand letter or a retraction, I want to go after them with a lawsuit because they have damaged my integrity as a Christian and my network to help addicts everywhere.\u201d He said that he has already discussed this with Harder, who he\u2019s just retained, and said that the lawyer was working on the legal paperwork.<\/p>\n \u201cMike Lindell has never met Jane Krakowski. The Daily Mail asked him to comment on a possible story that the two had secretly dated. He immediately told them he had never heard of her, and it was a \u2018fake news story.\u2019 The Daily Mail then recklessly published its false story, and defamed him in the process\u2014falsely saying he gave her champagne and liquor. He is a recovering addict, and runs Lindell Recovery Network. Mr. Lindell plans to sue the Daily Mail,\u201d Harder told The Daily Beast.<\/p>\n Lindell said he believed the\u00a0Mail<\/em>\u00a0story to be another \u201chit job\u201d that was written because he \u201cwon\u2019t let up on the…machine election fraud,\u201d regarding the\u00a0Trump-Biden<\/a>\u00a0presidential election.<\/p>\n A rep for the\u00a0Daily Mail<\/em>\u00a0did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Friday night.<\/p>\n MyPillow Guy Presents Trump With \u2018China\u2019 Election-Fraud Theory, Lawyers Send Him Packing<\/a><\/p>\n The\u00a0Gawker-killing attorney<\/a>, who has represented everyone from now-former President Donald Trump to professional wrestler Hulk Hogan, has established himself as a go-to attorney for aggrieved celebrities looking to take on news outlets. In 2017, Harder\u00a0helped<\/a>\u00a0wrestle a settlement and payment for Melania Trump from the\u00a0Daily Mail<\/em>, which was forced to retract and apologize for an article claiming she had once been an escort.<\/p>\n In what seemed to many like a scrapped plot line from\u00a030 Rock<\/em>, the\u00a0Mail<\/em>\u00a0reported Thursday afternoon that Lindell\u2014famous for his unwavering support of Trump and seemingly ceaseless pillow ads broadcast on Fox News\u2014had carried on a secret romance with the TV sitcom and Broadway star.<\/p>\n According to the tabloid, Krakowski\u2019s friends were puzzled by the alleged relationship and described it as tumultuous, but, per the\u00a0Mail<\/em>, Lindell won her over with champagne, liquor and flowers, and carried on a \u201cpassionate\u201d affair that one source described as an \u201copen secret\u201d in Manhattan\u2019s West Village. (Lindell, however, has publicly stated for years that he is now sober, having overcome his previous struggles with substance abuse, including\u00a0crack cocaine<\/a>.) Unfortunately, according to the tabloid, Krakowski would often throw away his gifts, and the duo reportedly split after a recent weekend together at a rented beach house.<\/p>\n One thing both parties seem to vocally agree on, however, is that the relationship described by the\u00a0Mail<\/em>\u00a0never happened.<\/p>\n \u201cJane has never met Mr. Lindell,\u201d the actress\u2019 publicist said in a statement. \u201cShe is not and has never been in any relationship with him, romantic or otherwise.\u201d Lindell told The Daily Beast on Thursday: \u201cI have never met that person and I told the Daily Mail that. My lawyers are going after them.\u201d<\/p>\n Since the 2020 election, Lindell had taken on a prominent role in conservative media and in the now-former, twice-impeached Republican president\u2019s orbit of assailing the results of the 2020 election, in which Democratic nominee and now-President Joe Biden had decisively beaten Trump in the popular and Electoral College votes. Lindell was a\u00a0major financial backer of<\/a>\u00a0certain pro-Trump legal efforts and rallies that sought to nullify Biden\u2019s victory, and remained in close contact to such Trumpworld luminaries as Sidney Powell and Michael Flynn.<\/p>\n On one of the very last days of the Trump presidency, the MyPillow inventor and cable-TV spokesman was at the White House, briefing the then-president in the Oval Office on documents that focused on a conspiracy theory that China and other foreign countries had hacked the 2020 presidential election to tip it to Biden.<\/p>\n That meeting lasted five to ten minutes, by Lindell\u2019s estimation, and he was escorted out and later shrugged off in an argument with other White House officials. Asked about that Oval meeting, the MyPillow creator\u00a0said last week<\/a>: \u201c[Trump] was upset to hear that this was happening to all the people who backed him for all these four years. He said, \u2018Can you believe how they\u2019re treating us out there?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n And while Harder has had several high-profile successes taking on media outlets, including Gawker and the\u00a0Daily Mail<\/em>, he\u2019s also suffered some high profile setbacks in court. As The Daily Beast\u00a0reported<\/a>\u00a0last year, Harder, working on behalf of Donald Trump\u2019s brother Robert Trump, failed to block the then-president\u2019s niece Mary Trump from publishing an explosive tell-all memoir about the family.<\/p>\n
