Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday blasted any future\u00a0attempt<\/a>\u00a0to screen domestic travelers, calling the Biden administration \u201clockdowners.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview on Fox News\u2019\u00a0\u201cSunday Morning Futures,\u201d\u00a0<\/a>DeSantis \u201cthey would not be a blessing to get away with targeting Florida.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c[President Joe] Biden is a lockdowner and\u00a0[his] advisers are lockdowners,\u201d DeSantis said. \u201cLockdowns don’t work.\u00a0We have demonstrated that.\u00a0We are not turning back.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeSantis lamented \u201clockdown states \u2026 are putting people out of\u00a0business.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe focus on lifting people up but by doing that, you actually have new entrepreneurs coming to start new ventures,\u201d he said. \u201cNew restaurants are opening in Florida, new hotels are opening up in Florida and so people view Florida as the place where they can follow their dreams, it is a free state.\u201d<\/p>\n

The governor also lauded Operation Warp Speed under the Trump administration, saying Biden should quit criticizing it.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy and large, the Warp\u00a0team did a great job,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

“What I would say stop blaming your predecessor and stop playing politics, let’s work together to figure out how we increase the number of doses available and get the shots in the arms,” he added.<\/p>\n
