ABC, CBS, NBC avoid explosive sexual harassment claims against Andrew Cuomo on evening news broadcasts<\/h1>\n

CNN and MSNBC also declined to address the scandal on their air Wednesday<\/h3>\n

The three\u00a0major broadcast networks<\/a>\u00a0joined CNN and MSNBC Wednesday in avoiding mention of sexual harassment claims against Democratic\u00a0New York<\/a>\u00a0Gov.\u00a0Andrew Cuomo<\/a> during their evening news programs.<\/p>\n

According to Grabien transcripts, ABC’s “World News Tonight,” CBS’ “Evening News,” and NBC’s “Nightly News” made no mention of the embattled Cuomo, who is\u00a0facing calls for his impeachment and resignation\u00a0after he was accused of covering up the number of deaths from COVID-19 in state nursing homes following his controversial order that\u00a0assisted living facilities accept COVID-positive patients.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday,\u00a0Lindsey Boylan<\/a>, Cuomo’s\u00a0former deputy secretary for economic development and\u00a0special adviser,\u00a0alleged\u00a0in an\u00a0essay published on the website Medium that the\u00a0governor went “out of his way to touch me on my lower back, arms and legs,” forcibly kissed\u00a0her on the lips during a one-on-one briefing\u00a0and suggested\u00a0that they “play strip poker” during a plane ride.<\/p>\n

The governor’s office has denied Boylan’s\u00a0harassment claims, calling them “simply false” and insisting\u00a0the strip poker comment “did not happen.”<\/p>\n

As NewsBusters previously\u00a0noted<\/a>, the three networks ignored Boylan when she took to Twitter back in December when she first made her sexual harassment claim against Cuomo, though she did not share details at the time.<\/p>\n

CNN, the home network of the governor’s brother Chris Cuomo, made zero mention of the allegations on its air or on CNN.com hours after Boylan came forward with her claims, according to Grabien transcripts and search results on the network’s website.<\/p>\n

MSNBC also skipped coverage of the sexual harassment allegations facing the already-embattled Democrat. However, the liberal network\u00a0did offer brief coverage of Cuomo’s ongoing nursing home scandal, reporting on a\u00a0new\u00a0Marist poll that showed 61%\u00a0of New York voters believe Cuomo did something wrong with his handling of the\u00a0state’s nursing homes during the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n

CNN,\u00a0along with “Cuomo Prime Time” anchor Chris Cuomo,\u00a0have made an unprecedented push to downplay and deflect from the controversies surrounding the New York Democrat, with the far-left network giving developments in\u00a0the\u00a0nursing home scandal\u00a0little to no airtime — while allowing the governor’s anchor brother\u00a0free rein to conduct friendly, comical interviews with the scandal-plagued governor in the early months of the pandemic.<\/p>\n

While the governor is now facing allegations of sexual harassment and bullying from Boylan, the CNN anchor gushed in an interview from May that his brother was “single and ready to mingle.”<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, CNN said Chris Cuomo\u00a0was\u00a0barred from covering his brother and\u00a0admitted\u00a0network brass\u00a0lifted the “rule” last year for the host to conduct his chummy fraternal\u00a0interviews.<\/p>\n

Gov. Cuomo’s administration is reportedly under investigation by the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn after critics\u00a0accused officials of covering up the true number of\u00a0COVID nursing home deaths in the state. Early in the pandemic, the governor ordered\u00a0assisted living facilities to accept COVID-positive patients in order to keep hospital beds free.<\/p>\n
