Gov.\u00a0Andrew Cuomo<\/a>\u2019s love life has been rocky, and sometimes cringe-worthy, for years \u2014 since well before\u00a0a second former aide accused him of sexual harassment<\/a> on the job on Feb. 27.<\/p>\n Briefly the hearthrob of some swooning liberals \u2014\u00a0who called themselves “Cuomosexuals”<\/a>\u00a0at the height of the governor\u2019s daily COVID-19 briefings last year \u2014 Cuomo, 63, has made no secret that he\u2019s on the prowl after a very public breakup in 2019.<\/p>\n One of those Cuomosexuals was comedian Chelsea Handler.<\/p>\n But when the LA-based comic asked him out online, the gov ghosted her, she joked last October, a year after his breakup with 14-year girlfriend and celebrity chef Sandra Lee.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m a big fan of Chelsea\u2019s and she is great and we have fun but on my dating life, you know, I am only dating at this point in-state residents,”\u00a0Cuomo said during an appearance<\/a> in October on “The View,” presumably referring to the still-raging COVID-19 crisis.<\/p>\n “On a human level, on a social level,”\u00a0he jokingly lamented<\/a>\u00a0to “The Daily Show” host Trevor Noah, also in October, “nobody wants to have dinner with me.”<\/p>\n Cuomo was married to Kerry Kennedy, the seventh child of Robert F. Kennedy, from 1990 until 2005.<\/p>\n They share daughters Cara Ethel Kennedy-Cuomo, Mariah Matilda Kennedy-Cuomo and Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo.<\/p>\n Why the two split has never been made clear.<\/p>\n However, an excerpt from “The Contender,” a Cuomo biography that\u00a0was published in Vanity Fair<\/a>, says tension in their relationship arose early on, and Kennedy even insisted the couple seek marriage counseling \u2014 but Cuomo was too consumed with work.<\/p>\n That same year his divorce was finalized, the governor began a relationship with Food Network host Lee, and the couple moved in together in 2011.<\/p>\n However, the couple\u2019s 14-year relationship\u00a0officially ended in September 2019<\/a>, and Cuomo has repeatedly intimated publicly since then that he was looking for love.<\/p>\n “Do you think you are an attractive person now because you\u2019re single and ready to mingle?” the governor\u2019s CNN host brother, Chris,\u00a0teased him<\/a>\u00a0on his show,\u00a0<\/a>“Cuomo Prime Time”<\/p>\n
