“Every four years, Democrats asked themselves the same question about the New York governor and former Housing and Urban Development secretary: \u2018How is Andrew Cuomo going to f-\u200a– us this time?\u2019\u2019 write the authors of “Lucky: How Joe Biden Barely Won the Presidency<\/a>.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n At the convention four years earlier, Cuomo had jarred on\u00a0“for double his allotted time,\u2019\u2019<\/a>\u00a0while his team refused to participate in fact-checking sessions beforehand, the book says.<\/p>\n Then last year, when Cuomo “was supposed to use his credibility to explain why Biden had the best plan for dealing with the pandemic,\u2019\u2019 he instead “recorded something of a tribute to himself,\u2019\u2019 write authors Jonathan Allen of NBC News and Amie Parnes of The Hill.<\/p>\n Cuomo\u2019s team had sent over the video the day of the convention, the tome says.<\/p>\n The governor boasted in the clip, “We climbed the impossible mountain, and right now, we are on the other side.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, left, and President Biden.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n He didn\u2019t utter Biden\u2019s name until 4 minutes and 50 seconds into the video \u2014 which was 5 minutes long, the book notes.<\/p>\n “The convention\u2019s speechwriting squad watched in disbelief,\u2019\u2019 the authors write.<\/p>\n “They asked Cuomo\u2019s aides to refilm it.
