Conservative Sensational Headlines No Excuse for FAKE NEWS<\/h1>\n

There’s journalism…and then there are tabloids. Unfortunately, a lot of tabloid-style Conservative “News” sites have sprung up lately, telling the patriots what they\u00a0want<\/em>\u00a0to hear (“Hillary Arrested!”) with no clear sources nor accountability when they’re upright, forthright, downright\u00a0wrong.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meanwhile they spam you unmercifully with advertisements\u00a0 for supplements and survival stuff and online stores and I-know-not-what making\u00a0reading<\/em>\u00a0the article painful at best, impossible at worst.<\/p>\n

I know why they do it. Just like this website,\u00a0since January 20th<\/a>\u00a0they’ve too have seen their website traffic, and thus their income, decrease by 75%…or more.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Patriots, this must\u00a0not<\/em>\u00a0be. Fake News should belong only the Liberal Left. They have the franchise. We expect them to lie and they do it so beautifully, over and over again.<\/p>\n

But we are called to a higher, more ethical form of Journalism. If we call ourselves “Patriots,” then our word\u00a0must<\/em>\u00a0be\u00a0impeccable,<\/em>\u00a0our facts consistent and Truth (not money!) our goal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Fake (Conservative) News<\/h2>\n

Telling the Patriots what they\u00a0want<\/em>\u00a0to hear has another name: lying.\u00a0Wasn’t there a Commandment about that or something?<\/a><\/p>\n

Just because we\u00a0want<\/em>\u00a0to hear, as\u00a0Real Raw News<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Before It’s News<\/em>\u00a0are reporting, that Hillary Rodham Clinton’s tribunal began yesterday, doesn’t make that sensational story true.<\/p>\n

What about the claim that Hillary Rodham Clinton died on the campaign trail in 2016? What about David Zublick’s claim that she died in 2018? Or 2019?<\/p>\n

It’s like the Avram says to Tevye in\u00a0Fiddle on the Roof<\/em>\u00a0after Tevye agrees to two diametrically opposed statements: “He’s right? And\u00a0he’s<\/em>\u00a0right? They can’t both be right!”<\/p>\n

If she’s already dead, she can’t be tried by tribunal. So which is it!?! Make up your minds. It’s sites like these that make Patriots look ridiculous and give them a bad name.<\/p>\n

Same goes for Joe Biden. Either it’s he or it’s not. And if it’s not, why are we railing against the policies of a man\u00a0who isn’t Biden<\/a>, wasn’t elected and\u00a0didn’t have a real inauguration!?! We’d get much further by demanding<\/a>\u00a0he take a DNA test instead of endless lawsuits and headlines that don’t do anybody any good!<\/p>\n

We’re\u00a0giving<\/em>\u00a0this thrice invalidated Individual (whose Real Name we don’t even know!) validity by freaking out about what he says and what he signs.<\/p>\n

But I digress.<\/p>\n

Frankly, I feel that sites like\u00a0RRN<\/em>\u00a0are more likely run by the Left, churning out badly written hopium tales and then sniggering in their sleeve when we read, quote and share them. “MAGA folks will believe anything,” they chortle while spinning another yarn. Now and then they throw in an article that’s actually true just to keep us coming back for more.<\/p>\n

There’s a strange double-standard in this cockeyed world. A Liberal news site can lie their asses off with zero repercussions. But if Conservatives write one tiny headline (with the best intentions) that turns out to be false…wham-o!<\/em>\u00a0We’re invalidated forever.<\/p>\n

If you have no morals, no ethics and no God, you can get away with murder. If you’re a good person and expectorate just once on the sidewalk, you’re clapped in irons, prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. That’s how the world works at the moment.<\/p>\n

As the curmudgeonly father on\u00a0Sabrina<\/em>\u00a0says about the 20th Century: “I could pick a century out of a hat, blindfolded, and get a better one.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Accountability<\/h2>\n

You can tell I’m turning 39 (for the third time!) next week because I’ve begun to gripe about how fast this world is going. I also can’t figure out how to set a digital alarm clock.<\/p>\n

Hundreds, nay\u00a0thousands<\/em>, of headlines are churned out each day. Some I share to the\u00a0“Breaking News” aggregator page<\/a>\u00a0but most I share\u00a0on my Telegram channel.<\/a><\/p>\n

Here’s my biggest gripe: No one ever goes back to see if the headlines were right. There’s no accountability. It’d be\u00a0way<\/em>\u00a0too time consuming.<\/p>\n

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I believe that every news item should be “worked through” very slowly and carefully and thoroughly. Only then should it be tied up with the Big Red Bow of Closure and laid to rest on the shelf of History. Then we should all move on to the next Big Story.<\/p>\n

That’s how I think. That’s how I live. It just\u00a0works<\/em>…except I’m still chewing on a headline from December as this damn planet plunges damn-the-torpedoes-full-speed-ahead into May. I’m like…<\/p>\n

“But what about…”<\/a><\/p>\n

“Remember when…”<\/a><\/p>\n

“We haven’t finish with…”<\/a><\/p>\n

We leave the past in an awful muddle with no accountability, no “working it through” and no Big Red Bow of Closure. That’s just wrong and it serves us ill. We’re not learning from History so we’re damned to repeat it!<\/p>\n

This was brought home to me a fortnight ago after\u00a0months<\/em>\u00a0of struggling with\u00a0my News page.<\/a>\u00a0I’d intended to keep\u00a0all<\/em>\u00a0the headlines from when the News page was launched last year so we wouldn’t forget. Unfortunately, broken links made the page impossible to work with. After months of struggling, I had to purge it and start from scratch.<\/p>\n

But I was able to save all the old headlines in a Word document (sans<\/em>\u00a0hyperlinks.) Here’s just a few that were screamed from rooftops but never went anywhere. How many were researched? How many were persued to their logical conclusions? How many crimes were prosecuted? How many do you even remember?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
