Diaz ruled the Sicknick, 42,\u00a0died from &#8220;acute brainstem and cerebellar infarcts due to acute basilar artery thrombosis.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/ny-times-corrects-report-capitol-officer-sicknick-death-impeachment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NEW YORK TIMES CORRECTS REPORT ON CAPITOL OFFICER&#8217;S DEATH CITED IN TRUMP IMPEACHMENT TRIAL<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The medical examiner&#8217;s report showed that Sicknick was sprayed with a chemical substance around 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 6 and collapsed at the Capitol around 10 p.m. that evening. He died around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 7, according to the examiner&#8217;s office.<\/p>\n<p>Diaz told the Washington Post, which first reported the news, that the Jan. 6 events &#8220;played a role in his condition.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Federal officials arrested and charged\u00a0two men last month with\u00a0assaulting Sicknick with bear spray during the riot.
