Tucker Carlson interviews Dr. Peter McCullough: Where is the conversation about COVID treatments?<\/h1>\n

Dr. Peter McCullough, author of the American Journal of Medicine\u2019s most downloaded paper on COVID treatments, estimated 85% of COVID deaths could have been prevented if health officials, politicians and physicians had focused less on vaccines and more on early preventive therapies.<\/em><\/h3>\n

May 21, 2021 (Children\u2019s Health Defense<\/a>) \u2013 In the segment below on \u201cTucker Carlson Tonight,\u201d Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson asks, \u201cWhere is the conversation about the treatment of COVID-19?\u201d<\/p>\n

Carlson interviewed\u00a0Dr. Peter McCullough<\/a>, consultant, cardiologist and vice chief of medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. McCullough is known for being one of the\u00a0top five most-published<\/a>\u00a0medical researchers in the U.S.<\/p>\n

McCullough\u00a0published<\/a>\u00a0his first findings on how to stop\u00a0COVID<\/a>\u00a0hospitalizations and deaths in the American Journal of Medicine in August 2020. Today, his work remains the most downloaded and utilized paper during the pandemic from the American Journal of Medicine.<\/p>\n

McCullough, who has treated many COVID patients, told Carlson there\u2019s \u201cbeen a global oblivion\u201d to the idea of treating patients with COVID-19. There are effective outpatient treatments, said McCullough, including monoclonal antibodies such as\u00a0Regeneron<\/a>\u00a0and intracellular anti-infectives including\u00a0hydroxychloroquine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

McCullough said:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat frustrated me, was in the media cycle, all we heard about was reducing spread, and then later on vaccination. We never actually heard about treating sick patients.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Had there been more of a focus on treating sick patients, said McCullough, early treatment could have prevented up to 85% of COVID deaths. Instead, he said, there\u2019s an \u201cincredible suppression of early treatment in the medical literature\u201d for COVID.<\/p>\n

McCullough highlights the \u201cSurgisphere scandal<\/a>\u201d in which The Lancet\u00a0published a fake paper<\/a>\u00a0by a sketchy U.S. company called Surgisphere that falsely implied hydroxychloroquine could harm people hospitalized with COVID.<\/p>\n

The Lancet issued a retraction, saying only that it couldn\u2019t verify the data, but it didn\u2019t apologize or explain how the paper was published, or the influence it may have had globally on the early treatment of COVID, McCullough said.<\/p>\n
