There\u2019s a possibility the Gates\u2019 divorce may be a preemptive effort to protect the Gates Foundation\u2019s reputation and influence should embarrassing truths emerge<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span id=\"bcr_rptStory_cslStory_3\">Gates is facing mounting criticism for his defense of Big Pharma\u2019s monopoly control over COVID-19 vaccine patent rights<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span id=\"bcr_rptStory_cslStory_4\">Gates claims there aren\u2019t enough vaccine factories available to assure safety in the manufacturing process. But there are at least three factories on three continents that have the capacity to produce hundreds of millions of COVID-19 vaccines if granted access to the technical blueprints<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span id=\"bcr_rptStory_cslStory_5\">Gates is also increasingly being blamed for the introduction of health apartheid around the world as vaccine passports are being rolled out<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bodytext\" class=\"bodytextdiv\" data-swiftype-name=\"postbody\" data-swiftype-type=\"text\">\n<p>After 27 years of marriage, Bill and Melinda Gates are calling it quits. The May 3, 2021, divorce filing cites the marriage as \u201cirretrievably broken,\u201d<sup><span id=\"edn1\" data-hash=\"#ednref1\">1<\/span><\/sup> which is standard legal jargon in a no-fault divorce.<\/p>\n<p>The philanthropic mission of the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates foundation, worth an estimated $50 billion despite having doled out $45 billion since its inception, will continue as before. Combined, the couple has a total net worth of about $146 billion in personal assets, including large swaths of prime farmland.<sup><span id=\"edn2\" data-hash=\"#ednref2\">2<\/span>,<\/sup><sup><span id=\"edn3\" data-hash=\"#ednref3\">3<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<h2>Gates\u2019 Halo Is Starting to Tarnish<\/h2>\n<p>A number of rumors began swirling after the couple\u2019s divorce announcement, many of which are bound to be off-target. What we can be fairly certain about, however, is that any information coming out about Bill and Melinda in the future is bound to be carefully crafted PR, and if my suspicion is correct, we\u2019ll start seeing Melinda being portrayed as the saint in the relationship, as Bill\u2019s halo gets walloped off his head.<\/p>\n<p>I suspect the split may have less to do with irreconcilable differences and far more to do with protecting the Gates Foundation and other assets as the truth about Bill\u2019s true character starts seeping out.<\/p>\n<p>Facing mounting criticism and potentially embarrassing exposure on multiple fronts, it may be just a matter of time before his reputation turns to dirt, just like it did a little over a decade ago when his heartless, unethical business dealings<sup><span id=\"edn4\" data-hash=\"#ednref4\">4<\/span><\/sup> and abuse of monopoly power<sup><span id=\"edn5\" data-hash=\"#ednref5\">5<\/span><\/sup> became known.<\/p>\n<p>Gates\u2019 situation was similar to that of John D. Rockefeller, the widely-disliked oil baron who transformed his reputation from ruthless industrialist to generous philanthropist by creating the Rockefeller Foundation. Gates followed the same playbook when reestablishing his image. He created the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation and started buying favorable press, as detailed in \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2020\/09\/07\/bill-and-melinda-gates-foundation-media.aspx\">Gates\u2019 Keepers of Journalism<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If I were to venture a guess, Gates\u2019 divorce might well be a preemptive maneuver to salvage the family legacy in case Bill gets ensnared in too many major scandals. I could be wrong, of course, but I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if in the future, as Bill\u2019s star fades, Melinda\u2019s will rise and she\u2019ll become the new face of the Gates Foundation\u2019s philanthropic wheeling and dealing.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, I don\u2019t foresee the goals of the Gates Foundation improving. It\u2019ll probably remain a self-serving enterprise, dishing out \u201csolutions\u201d to problems that make the Foundation lots of money while making the situation they\u2019re trying to fix all the worse.<\/p>\n<h2>Gates \u2014 The Father of Health Apartheid<\/h2>\n<p>So, what are some of the scandals that might knock Bill off his self-made pedestal as the global savior? For starters, Gates is increasingly being blamed for the introduction of health apartheid around the world. He\u2019s been a primary spokesperson for vaccine passports, repeatedly stating that the whole world must get vaccinated or else we\u2019ll never get back to any semblance of normal life.<\/p>\n<p>In an April 2020 blog post, he stated, \u201cWe need to manufacture and distribute at least 7 billion doses of the vaccine \u2026 possibly 14 billion, if it\u2019s a multidose vaccine.\u201d He also said, \u201cI suspect the COVID-19 vaccine will become part of the routine newborn immunization schedule.\u201d<sup><span id=\"edn6\" data-hash=\"#ednref6\">6<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>What he doesn\u2019t openly share is that he stands to make enormous amounts of money on this global vaccination program, as he\u2019s heavily invested in <a href=\"https:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2021\/05\/12\/bells-palsy-covid-vaccine.aspx\">COVID-19 vaccines<\/a>. This is the same scheme the Gates Foundation has become infamous for.<\/p>\n<p>Gates invests in businesses and industries and then tells us the best or only way to solve a problem is by using the services and products of those same industries and businesses. It\u2019s nothing but a self-serving racket.<\/p>\n<p>As noted by Vandana Shiva, Ph.D., for well over a decade <a href=\"https:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2021\/04\/11\/vandana-shiva-on-bill-gates-empires.aspx\">Gates has engaged in business schemes that undermine vitality and life<\/a> in all its form, in an effort to seize control over and profit from it. By funding research and financing public institutions, he\u2019s been able to force those institutions down a path where they\u2019re forced to use his patented intellectual property.<\/p>\n<p>The more Gates tries to \u201csave\u201d the world \u2014 be it through <a href=\"https:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2020\/03\/03\/genetically-engineered-food.aspx\">GMO crops<\/a> and chemical-driven monoculture, synthetic beef and fake food, or vaccines for every ailment \u2014 the closer he drives us toward our extinction.<\/p>\n<p>While mainstream media insist Gates is a target \u201csimply because he is rich and famous,\u201d<sup><span id=\"edn7\" data-hash=\"#ednref7\">7<\/span><\/sup> that\u2019s hardly the case. There are many rich and famous people that aren\u2019t the target of global outrage, and there\u2019s a reason for that. They didn\u2019t get rich by pushing false and dangerous \u201csolutions\u201d into the world while pretending to be a savior and hiding their support of <a href=\"https:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2021\/03\/13\/oxford-astrazeneca-eugenics-links.aspx\">eugenics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"productad\">\n<div class=\"label\"><\/div>\n<p><a id=\"productad\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Truth-about-Covid-19-Lockdowns-Passports\/dp\/1645020886?cid_source=banner&amp;cid_medium=int&amp;cid=the_truth_about_covid19_20210217&amp;cid_content=csmid&amp;cid_term=version1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a><\/div>\n<h2>Patent Controversy Heats Up<\/h2>\n<p>As reported by The Nation,<sup><span id=\"edn8\" data-hash=\"#ednref8\">8<\/span><\/sup> there have been growing calls to suspend COVID-19 vaccine patents and open them up so that vaccine production can be expanded. Lifting the patent protection would open the doors for generic versions to be manufactured, which would increase supplies and lower costs \u2014 and ultimately get more vaccines to middle- and low-income nations. Not surprisingly, Gates has been an outspoken defender of Big Pharma\u2019s monopoly control.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe reporting has highlighted the former Microsoft CEO\u2019s hard-wired ideological commitment to patents, intellectual property, and the private sector, but may have understated the full scope of the Gates Foundation\u2019s interests in this debate,\u201d<\/em> The Nation writes.<sup><span id=\"edn9\" data-hash=\"#ednref9\">9<\/span><\/sup><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cLike the sprawling array of intellectual property, the charity has acquired access to through its grants and investments. Or the fact that the foundation co-owns a vaccine company.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>Last October, The Nation reported on a $40 million investment the Gates Foundation made in 2015 in a start-up company called CureVac, which is currently wrapping up clinical trials for its COVID vaccine \u2026<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>The foundation is no longer a leading shareholder, but its 2015 investment may be worth hundreds of millions of dollars today, as last November CureVac agreed to supply up to 405 million doses to the European Commission \u2014 a deal that seems to raise new questions about Gates\u2019s role in perpetuating vaccine apartheid.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>While the Gates Foundation currently stands to financially benefit from CureVac\u2019s prioritizing sales to the wealthiest nations and preserving its intellectual property and patents, doesn\u2019t the foundation\u2019s charitable mission \u2014 and related tax benefits \u2014 require it to direct immunizations into the arms of the global poor? CureVac and the Gates Foundation both failed to respond to questions about if or how they plan to do so.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Global Health Is Another Gates Monopoly Grab<\/h2>\n<p>The Gates Foundation also has the ability to influence vaccine markets \u2014 and hence its own profits \u2014 through a number of other networks, including the World Health Organization, which it is one of the largest funders of. According to The Nation, Gates:<sup><span id=\"edn10\" data-hash=\"#ednref10\">10<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Directs the WHO\u2019s vaccine delivery efforts<\/li>\n<li>Advises the G7 delegation on pandemic preparedness<\/li>\n<li>Meets with U.S. trade representatives to discuss intellectual property rights related to COVID-19 vaccines<\/li>\n<li>Holds regular calls with drug company CEOs and Dr. Anthony Fauci<\/li>\n<li>Has brokered vaccines deals between the University of Oxford, AstraZeneca and the Serum Institute of India. He actually talked Oxford out of its original promise to create a patent-free vaccine and partnered them up with for-profit AstraZeneca instead<sup><span id=\"edn11\" data-hash=\"#ednref11\">11<\/span><\/sup><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gates also sits on the boards of the GlobalFund and Unitaid, has a close relationship with the World Bank, and personally supported and participated in Event 201, which simulated a worldwide pandemic triggered by a novel coronavirus. As noted by The Nation:<sup><span id=\"edn12\" data-hash=\"#ednref12\">12<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIt is increasingly urgent to ask if Gates\u2019s multiple roles in the pandemic \u2014 as a charity, a business, an investor, and a lobbyist \u2014 are about philanthropy and giving away money, or about taking control and exercising power \u2014 monopoly power.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Nation quotes Rohit Malpani, a global health consultant and board member of the global health initiative Unitaid, who said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWhat we\u2019re seeing is the accumulation of 20 years of very careful expansion into every aspect in global health \u2014 all of the institutions, all of the different companies that often have these early-stage technologies, as well as all of the advocacy groups that speak to these issue, and all of the research institutions.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p><em>It also therefore reflects the failure of the Gates Foundation. The fact that they exert so much influence and even control over so many aspects of the [pandemic] response\u2026 and the fact that we are seeing so much inequity speaks to the influence that they have, and [suggests] the strategies that they\u2019ve set out have not worked. And they have to own that failure.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Gates \u2014 A Not-So-Equitable Technocrat<\/h2>\n<p>James Love, director of the advocacy group Knowledge Ecology International, told The Nation:<sup><span id=\"edn13\" data-hash=\"#ednref13\">13<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cEverything Gates has done in the vaccine area since 1999 has been to push the line to strong intellectual property rights, reliance on really big companies, secret agreements, and restrictive licensing. That\u2019s his secret to success. And that\u2019s the exact opposite of what we want to see happen.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Indeed, as noted in a recent Jacobin Magazine article<sup><span id=\"edn14\" data-hash=\"#ednref14\">14<\/span><\/sup> by staff writer Luke Savage, if the COVID pandemic doesn\u2019t call for international cooperation, nothing does. Yet, Gates is choosing \u201cpatent rights over human lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t get me wrong. I believe these mislabeled vaccines are a disaster in the making and don\u2019t recommend them. The point here is that Gates is showing his true colors. When push comes to shove, and the world is asking for true generosity \u2014 there are to date more than 100 countries that haven\u2019t administered a single dose of COVID vaccine<sup><span id=\"edn15\" data-hash=\"#ednref15\">15<\/span><\/sup> \u2014 Gates offers up a firm no.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"takeaway tamiddle\">Pfizer\u2019s COVID vaccine has generated $3.5 billion in revenue in the first three months of 2021, and the company expects \u201cdurable demand\u201d for the vaccine to continue in coming years, similar to flu vaccines. Estimates suggest revenue will reach $26 billion for Pfizer\u2019s COVID vaccine by the end of 2021.<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>Gates is in it for the money. It is patently obvious he doesn\u2019t believe that vaccines are going to actually save the world. If he did, and were he a true philanthropist at heart, he\u2019d advocate for the removal of patent rights and help blanket the world in vaccines. Instead he fights for patent rights and focuses on amassing intellectual property for all his global solutions.<\/p>\n<h2>Gates Is Lying About Need for Vaccine Patent Protection<\/h2>\n<div class=\"video-rwd\">\n<figure class=\"op-interactive aspect-ratio\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"iFrameResizer0\" class=\" mlazyloaded\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kZ5DavuOkcM?wmode=transparent&amp;rel=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mlazyload-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kZ5DavuOkcM?wmode=transparent&amp;rel=0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>TV political commentator Krystal Ball doesn\u2019t mince any words when she says Gates is lying when he says that lifting patent protections on COVID vaccines won\u2019t help developing countries. As the self-appointed global vaccine czar, Gates says there aren\u2019t enough vaccine factories available to assure safety in the manufacturing process. But that\u2019s not true, Ball points out.<\/p>\n<p>An Associated Press investigation found three factories on three continents that have the capacity to produce hundreds of millions of COVID-19 vaccines \u201cif only they had the blueprints and technical know-how.\u201d<sup><span id=\"edn16\" data-hash=\"#ednref16\">16<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all about greed, Ball says \u2014 and keeping Pharma profits as high as possible. The bottom line is that, despite his insistence that he wants to get vaccines as quickly as possible to developing countries, Gates is purposely holding up the manufacturing and distribution processes.<\/p>\n<p>Big Pharma\u2019s goal is to keep their profits high. They lobby heavily in the U.S. and EU to protect patent monopolies so generic versions of their products cannot be manufactured. According to Corporate Europe Observatory:<sup><span id=\"edn17\" data-hash=\"#ednref17\">17<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cMany pharma companies have pledged to put global health before profits during the pandemic, but documents released to Corporate Europe Observatory \u2014 after long delays \u2014 reveal that the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) lobbied against a tool designed to facilitate equitable access and pricing for pandemic treatments in Europe.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"mboxMidPost\"><\/div>\n<h2>Big Pharma Reaps Profits of Taxpayer-Funded Research<\/h2>\n<p>Drug companies claim that patents are necessary to protect their intellectual property rights so they can continue to research and produce lifesaving treatments, but they\u2019re largely reaping the profits of taxpayer-funded research.<\/p>\n<p>In a working paper<sup><span id=\"edn18\" data-hash=\"#ednref18\">18<\/span><\/sup> released by the Institute for New Economic Thinking, it\u2019s revealed that funding from the U.S. National Institutes of Health \u2014 $230 billion in total \u2014 contributed to research associated with every new drug approved in the U.S. from 2010 to 2019.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more, 22,000 patents resulted from the taxpayer-funded research, which allowed for marketing exclusivity for 8.6% of the new drugs approved during the study period. \u201cIt also demonstrates the limited mechanisms available for recognizing the value created by these early investments and ensuring appropriate public returns,\u201d the paper noted.<\/p>\n<p>Even the <a href=\"https:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2021\/03\/31\/covid-vaccine-software-update.aspx\">mRNA technology<\/a> that\u2019s being used in COVID-19 vaccines is the result of federally funded basic research conducted by the NIH and the Department of Defense.<sup><span id=\"edn19\" data-hash=\"#ednref19\">19<\/span><\/sup> \u201cThis is the people\u2019s vaccine,\u201d Peter Maybarduk, director of Public Citizen\u2019s Access to Medicines program, told Scientific American.<sup><span id=\"edn20\" data-hash=\"#ednref20\">20<\/span><\/sup> \u201cFederal scientists helped invent it and taxpayers are funding its development \u2026 It should belong to humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/articles.mercola.com\/sites\/articles\/archive\/2020\/11\/18\/first-covid-19-vaccine-90-percent-effective.aspx\">Pfizer\u2019s COVID vaccine<\/a> has already generated $3.5 billion in revenue in the first three months of 2021,<sup><span id=\"edn21\" data-hash=\"#ednref21\">21<\/span><\/sup> and the company said it expects \u201cdurable demand\u201d for the vaccine to continue in coming years, similar to flu vaccines. Estimates suggest revenue will reach $26 billion for Pfizer\u2019s COVID vaccine by the end of 2021.<sup><span id=\"edn22\" data-hash=\"#ednref22\">22<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<h2>What Might Come Out of the Maxwell Trial?<\/h2>\n<p>There\u2019s also the possibility of shadier aspects of Gates\u2019 life coming into light. According to one MSN report,<sup><span id=\"edn23\" data-hash=\"#ednref23\">23<\/span><\/sup> Melinda made inquiries with divorce lawyers in October 2019 \u2014 the same month The New York Times published an article about Gates\u2019 repeated dealings with the notorious child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.<sup><span id=\"edn24\" data-hash=\"#ednref24\">24<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<p>The New York Post<sup><span id=\"edn25\" data-hash=\"#ednref25\">25<\/span><\/sup> and the Daily Mail<sup><span id=\"edn26\" data-hash=\"#ednref26\">26<\/span><\/sup> recently dedicated articles to Gates\u2019 \u201cwomanizing\u201d ways premarriage, citing information from Gates biographer James Wallace, who claims Gates had a penchant for strippers and naked pool parties.<\/p>\n<p>The Washington Examiner goes a step further, stating the \u201cGates divorce [is] partially motivated by dealings with Jeffrey Epstein.\u201d<sup><span id=\"edn27\" data-hash=\"#ednref27\">27<\/span><\/sup> A spokesperson for Gates responded to questions about his meetings with the pedophile ring leader, saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;Gates recognizes that entertaining Epstein\u2019s ideas related to philanthropy gave Epstein an undeserved platform that was at odds with Gates\u2019s personal values and the values of his foundation.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>While Epstein died under suspicious circumstances in his prison cell in August 2019, his business partner, Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested in July 2020, charged with transporting a minor for the purpose of criminal sexual activity and conspiring to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts. Additional charges of sex trafficking and recruitment of underage girls were later added.<\/p>\n<p>Maxwell\u2019s trial is scheduled to begin this fall. Time will tell whether her trial will end up revealing further details about Gates\u2019 involvement with Epstein. Either way, the timing of the Gates\u2019 split is interesting, considering how Bill\u2019s reputation as a global do-gooder is suddenly slipping.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"bcr_divfootnote\"
