A leading immunologist has advised the UK government to \u201cmove on\u201d with reopening society, warning that coronavirus is \u201chere to stay\u201d and that it makes no sense trying to hide every time a new variant emerges.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0BBC reports<\/a>\u00a0the comments by Sir John Bell, a Chair of Medicine\u00a0at the\u00a0University of Oxford, member of the\u00a0Office for Strategic Coordination of Health Research\u00a0(OSCHR), and a leading member of the government\u2019s vaccine taskforce.<\/p>\n

In an interview with BBC Radio Four, Bell urged that \u201cIf we scamper down a rabbit hole every time we see a new variant, we\u2019re going to spend a long time huddled away.\u201d<\/p>\n
