As Drug Makers Set Sights on Vaccinating 5-Year-Olds, Latest VAERS Data Show Number of Injuries, Deaths Continues to Climb<\/strong><\/h1>\n

VAERS data released today showed 329,021 reports of adverse events following COVID vaccines, including 5,888 deaths and 28,441 serious injuries between Dec. 14, 2020 and June 4, 2021.<\/em><\/h3>\n

This week\u2019s number of reported adverse events among all age groups following COVID vaccines surpassed 329,000, according to data released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The data comes directly from reports submitted to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System<\/a> (VAERS).<\/p>\n

VAERS<\/a> is the primary government-funded system for reporting adverse vaccine reactions in the U.S. Reports submitted to VAERS require further investigation before a causal relationship can be confirmed.<\/p>\n

Every Friday, VAERS makes public all vaccine injury reports received as of a specified date, usually about a week prior to the release date. Today\u2019s data show that between Dec. 14, 2020 and June 4, a total of 329,021 total adverse events<\/a> were reported to VAERS, including 5,888 deaths<\/a> \u2014 an increase of 723 deaths over the previous week. There were 28,441 serious injury reports, <\/a>up 3,082 compared with last week.<\/p>\n

Among 12- to 17-year-olds, there were 59 reports<\/a> of heart inflammation and 19 cases<\/a> of blood clotting disorders.<\/p>\n

In the U.S., 299.1 million<\/a> COVID vaccine doses had been administered as of June 4. This includes<\/a>126 million doses of Moderna\u2019s<\/a> vaccine, 162 million doses of Pfizer<\/a> and 11 million doses of the Johnson & Johnson<\/a> (J&J) COVID vaccine.<\/p>\n

Of the 5,888 deaths reported as of June 4, 23% occurred<\/a> within 48 hours of vaccination, 16% occurred <\/a>within 24 hours and 39% occurred<\/a> in people who became ill within 48 hours<\/a> of being vaccinated.<\/p>\n
