British broadcaster Jeremy Clarkson has blasted \u201ccommunist\u201d government advisors who want to keep the population under lockdown forever.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Clarkson made the comments during an interview with the Radio Times.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the politicians should sometimes tell those communists at Sage to get back in their box,\u201d he said. \u201cLet\u2019s just all go through life with our fingers crossed and a smile on our face. I can see Boris doesn\u2019t want to open it up and shut us back down again. But if it\u2019s going to be four years \u2026 and who knows, it could be 40 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Top Gear presenter then made clear that the cost of freedom is the inevitable risk of death.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, if it\u2019s going to be for ever, let\u2019s open it up and if you die, you die,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

While some COVID restrictions in England were lifted on July 19, foreign travel is still perilous and people are still being forced to self-isolate as well as having to wear masks in some settings.<\/p>\n

Clarkson was immediately accused of being \u201cboorish and insensitive\u201d by\u00a0the Guardian<\/a>\u00a0over the comments, despite the fact that he was infected with COVID and recovered from it last Christmas.<\/p>\n
