(Charlotte Cuthbertson\/The Epoch Times)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a statement to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillFOXLA\/status\/1438656531550068740\">Fox News<\/a>, the FAA said the no-fly zone ban was imposed at the\u00a0request of the U.S. Border Patrol but noted that media can make a request for an exemption.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>\u201cThe Border Patrol requested the temporary flight restriction due to drones interfering with law enforcement flights on the border. Greg Abbott on Thursday directed the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard to \u201cmaintain their presence at and around ports of entry to deter crossings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Abbott also took aim at President Joe Biden\u2019s administration in its handling of the crisis, noting that it was in \u201ccomplete disarray\u201d and was dealing with the border situation \u201cas badly as the evacuation from Afghanistan,\u201d Abbott\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gov.texas.gov\/news\/post\/governor-abbott-statement-on-biden-administration-refusal-to-close-ports-of-entry\">said in a statement.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sen.
