{"id":84786,"date":"2021-09-19T07:26:51","date_gmt":"2021-09-19T11:26:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=84786"},"modified":"2021-09-19T07:26:51","modified_gmt":"2021-09-19T11:26:51","slug":"yes-theyre-even-lying-about-long-covid-to-keep-up-the-fearmongering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=84786","title":{"rendered":"Yes, they&#8217;re even lying about &#8220;Long Covid&#8221; to keep up the fearmongering!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>UK Data Suggests &#8220;Long COVID&#8221; Less Common Than Feared<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><!--more-->By Lily Zhou via<br \/>\nThe Epoch Times<\/p>\n<p>The prevalence of so-called \u201clong-COVID\u201d in the UK is less common than previously estimated, official data suggests.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zerohedge.com\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/London-lockdown-700x420.jpg?itok=NLWv0ndW\" data-image-external-href=\"\" data-image-href=\"\/s3\/files\/inline-images\/London-lockdown-700x420.jpg?itok=NLWv0ndW\" data-link-option=\"0\"><picture><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-images image-style-inline-images\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.zerohedge.com\/s3fs-public\/styles\/inline_image_mobile\/public\/inline-images\/London-lockdown-700x420.jpg?itok=NLWv0ndW\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"300\" data-entity-type=\"file\" data-entity-uuid=\"32e550f9-613c-490f-bfc0-baa4394b2e48\" data-responsive-image-style=\"inline_images\" \/><\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"Advert_desktop__1J5vD Advert_tablet__3QEBr Advert_mobile__1rlLc Advert_placement__1I4yb Advert_align__N0_fw\">\n<aside id=\"in-content-video\" class=\"Advert_verticallySpaced__wnPy3\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/21841313772,21778456762\/zerohedge\/in_content_video_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to\u00a0an update published by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ons.gov.uk\/peoplepopulationandcommunity\/healthandsocialcare\/conditionsanddiseases\/articles\/technicalarticleupdatedestimatesoftheprevalenceofpostacutesymptomsamongpeoplewithcoronaviruscovid19intheuk\/26april2020to1august2021#glossary\">Office for National Statistics<\/a>\u00a0(ONS) on Thursday,\u00a0<strong>only 3 percent of people who tested\u00a0positive for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/giving-the-right-name-to-the-virus-causing-a-worldwide-pandemic-2_3277200.html\">CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus<\/a>\u00a0had symptoms lasting more than 12 weeks, \u201csubstantially lower\u201d than the ONS\u2019 previous estimation published in April (13.7 percent).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ONS said the new analysis benefited from both longer follow-up time and updated\u00a0statistical methodology.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers analysed data between April 26, 2020, and Aug. 1 this year from more than 20,000 Coronavirus Infection Survey participants who had a positive PCR test for the CCP virus, and who can be matched to a control participant.<\/p>\n<p>Among the control group, who didn\u2019t test positive for the CCP virus, 0.5 percent had symptoms lasting 12 weeks or longer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 12 symptoms that ONS asked about were\u00a0fever, headache, muscle ache, weakness\/tiredness, nausea\/vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, sore throat, cough, shortness of breath, loss of taste, and loss of smell.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Due to the observational nature of the study, it\u2019s impossible to know for certain what were the causes of the symptoms, the ONS said.<\/p>\n<p>While including non-continuous symptoms, 5 percent of the COVID group had symptoms at a point in time between 12\u201316 weeks after infection.
