The Biden administration is poised to make its next unconstitutional power grab in the former of a \u2018vaccine mandate\u2019 for interstate travel within the United States, according to reports on Capitol Hill.<\/p>\n
Congressional Republican lawmakers are attempting to get ahead of the forthcoming expected decree by introducing legislation to block an executive order or directive.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn a Wednesday speech on the Senate floor, Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), joined by Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah), introduced legislation that would bar the Biden administration from implementing vaccine passports requirements for interstate travel,\u201d the Epoch Times reported.<\/p>\n
The Prevent Unconstitutional Vaccine Mandates for Interstate Commerce Act, would \u201cprohibit several federal agencies involved in interstate commerce and travel from requiring proof of vaccination: The Department of Transportation, which oversees the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak), the Surface Transportation Board, the Transportation Security Administration, the National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Maritime Commission, and the Department of Commerce,\u201d according to the report.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe federal government has no business imposing vaccine mandates on our people and our hardworking businesses,\u201d Sen. Rick Scott remarked.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Supreme Court has already ruled that you cannot be forced to purchase insurance under the commerce clause. Why would president Biden think he could do so with a vaccine mandate?\u201d he asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cTravel is critical to getting our economy fully reopened. America\u2019s truckers, shippers, pilots, and delivery men and women play an important role in delivering the goods needed to keep our economy going,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cAmericans are sick and tired of the government telling them what to do. And the American people are more than capable of making the right decision to protect them, their family, and their neighbors,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
There have been numerous signs in recent weeks that the Biden administration is poised to issue a vaccine mandate for interstate travel, even though it would be blatantly unconstitutional.<\/p>\n
Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief of the NIAID, is typically the messenger that the administration sends out to prime the public for forthcoming extreme measures. Fauci recently supported a vaccine mandate for interstate travel.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would support that. If you want to get on a plane and travel, then you should be vaccinated,\u201d Fauci said in an interview on the Skimm This podcast in mid-September.<\/p>\n
\u201cFauci later clarified to say that the Biden administration is not extending its vaccine mandate to travel just yet, although it is under consideration,\u201d NPR noted.<\/p>\n
Dr. Zeke Emanuel, who infamously earned the nickname \u201cDr. Death\u201d for his support of death panels in Obamacare, unsurprisingly also supports the draconian practice.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo overcome covid-19, at least 80 percent of Americans need to be vaccinated,\u201d Emanuel co-wrote in a Washington Post editorial with Cornell professor John P. Moore. \u201cWe are now at 54 percent. Voluntary efforts have proved to be insufficient. It is inevitable we will need another mandate \u2014 this time for domestic travel by planes, trains and buses.\u201d<\/p>\n
Former President Obama\u2019s Transportation Secretary also threw his backing behind the authoritarian mandates.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe man who ran former President Barack Obama\u2019s Department of Transportation thinks President Joe Biden is going too soft on airlines and airline travelers as part of the government\u2019s efforts to get the pandemic under control,\u201d Politico reported . . .<\/p>\n
