Steve Hilton challenges Fauci, health officials over this coronavirus precaution: ‘It doesn’t add up’<\/h1>\n

Steve Hilton\u00a0<\/a>called on\u00a0Dr. Anthony Fauci<\/a>\u00a0and other top U.S. health officials to provide some insight into many of the unanswered\u00a0questions surrounding the federal government’s public health strategy to contain the coronavirus, and questioned the latest decision to close U.S. schools and universities in an attempt to stop the spread of the outbreak.<\/p>\n

“There is something\u00a0missing in what we’re told by\u00a0our public health officials,” Hilton\u00a0said in his opening monologue of\u00a0“The Next Revolution,”<\/a>\u00a0Sunday.<\/p>\n

“They have told us, ‘most people\u00a0are not at serious risk from\u00a0coronavirus, and\u00a0while anyone can get it\u00a0and spread it so far, only a\u00a0small number end up sick enough\u00a0to be hospitalized.'”<\/p>\n

”\u00a0I am sure there is a good answer… but\u00a0we have not heard it yet… and\u00a0until we do, you will have\u00a0millions of Americans not\u00a0trusting what officials say.”<\/p>\n

Hilton noted that according to health officials,\u00a0senior citizens and people\u00a0with chronic underlying conditions were most vulnerable\u00a0— but children without compromised immune systems likely will feel mild symptoms, if any, and will make a full recovery.<\/p>\n

“The question many are asking is…\u00a0‘if kids don’t get it —\u00a0if most people\u00a0who get it are fine, why are we\u00a0closing down America to fight\u00a0it?”‘ Hilton asked.<\/p>\n

The surge of cases throughout the United States and around the world has brought many countries to something approaching a standstill. While countries including Italy, Spain\u00a0and China have declared\u00a0complete lockdowns<\/a> in efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19, life in the United States\u00a0also has dramatically changed in just a week.<\/p>\n

From work to entertainment to even worship, several aspects of American life have been reordered as health officials encouraged the public to carry out “social distancing” to prevent the spread of the infection.<\/p>\n

Major sporting events — including the start of the Major League Baseball season, the end of the NBA’s season\u00a0and March Madness NCAA basketball tournaments — have been\u00a0postponed or outright canceled<\/a>\u00a0to prevent large crowds from gathering, Hilton noted.<\/p>\n

“We have to reduce the number of\u00a0hospitalizations at any one\u00a0time, spread it out. In the jargon, ‘flatten the curve,'” Hilton said.<\/p>\n

Hilton’s comments came hours after\u00a0New York City officials<\/a>\u00a0announced that their\u00a0public school system<\/a> will close for over a month, a decision affecting over 1.1 million children.<\/p>\n

2. Schools are closed until at least Monday, April 20th.
3. Schools MAY be closed through the end of the school year.<\/p>\n
