Brits Who Post “False Information” About Vaccines Could Be Jailed For Two Years<\/h1>\n

People in the UK who post \u201cfalse information\u201d about vaccines online could face two years in prison under a new law.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/picture><\/a><\/p>\n

Yes, really.<\/p>\n

The Online Safety Bill, described as\u00a0\u201cthe flagship legislation to combat abuse and hatred on the internet\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0has faced fierce criticism from civil liberties groups for its broad overreach.<\/p>\n

The law would create a \u201cknowingly false communication\u201d offence which, according to\u00a0the Times<\/a>, \u201cwill criminalise those who send or post a message they know to be false with the intention to cause \u201cemotional, psychological, or physical harm to the likely audience\u201d. Government sources gave the example of antivaxers spreading false information that they know to be untrue.\u201d<\/p>\n

Given that authorities have deemed all kinds of information about the pandemic and vaccines \u201cfalse\u201d that later turned out to be true, this is a chilling prospect.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For example, claims that vaccines are not fully effective in stopping the spread of COVID-19 would have once been deemed \u201cfalse,\u201d but that position is now a proven fact.<\/p>\n

The bill would also change the current stricter standard of \u201cindecent\u201d or \u201cgrossly offensive\u201d content to the much broader definition of \u201charmful effect\u201d when deciding if a post or a message is criminal.<\/p>\n

This is more in line with UK hate speech laws that determine whether an act of hate speech or a \u201chate incident\u201d has been committed not on the basis of whether or not it actually happened, but on the basis of the supposed victim feeling like they\u2019ve been targeted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe new offences will include so-called \u201cpile-ons\u201d where a number of individuals join others in sending harassing messages to a victim on social media,\u201d reports the Times.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And if you think that will stop left-wing mobs who routinely form \u201cpile-ons\u201d against conservatives for expressing dissenting opinions, think again.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It will be selectively enforced against people who criticize or make fun of those deemed \u201coppressed minorities,\u201d despite such groups having the full backing of the state and every cultural institution (the alphabet people).<\/p>\n

The Online Harms Bill is being amplified with the help of relentless propaganda about black football players being abused online, despite the fact that most of the abuse originates abroad, mainly from Middle Eastern countries.<\/p>\n
