{"id":105336,"date":"2022-01-30T15:44:36","date_gmt":"2022-01-30T19:44:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=105336"},"modified":"2022-01-30T15:44:36","modified_gmt":"2022-01-30T19:44:36","slug":"no-one-has-ever-seen-both-the-us-and-uk-intelligence-communities-relentlessly-gaslight-the-whole-world-about-a-predicted-act-of-war","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=105336","title":{"rendered":"No one has ever seen both the US and UK Intelligence Communities relentlessly gaslight the whole world about a predicted act of war&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>&#8230;as the CIA&#8217;s <em>Mockingbird Media<\/em> goes hysterical about a Russian attack on Ukraine in order to prevent the immediate annexation of Donbas&#8212;the far eastern oblast (i.e. administrative region) populated with a disproportionate number of oppressed Russian speakers.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>SOTN Editor&#8217;s Note:<\/strong> In other words, the US, UK, EU and NATO have all conspired to hype Russia&#8217;s war-making plans against the Ukraine as a means of delaying the inevitable invasion, so that the West can better prep for what promises to be a highly armed conflict.\u00a0 All parties concerned know that the Western powers are deceitfully backing the Kremlin into a corner so that eventually Russia must (i) first take over and (ii) then legally annex Donbas.\u00a0 President Putin will only order such a military takeover as a necessary national security measure, one which was painstakingly adopted as a result of rapid expansion eastward by NATO and aggressive military posturing throughout eastern Europe by the US and UK.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">A War Only America &amp; Britain Seem to Want<\/h1>\n<p><strong>By\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/tag\/joe-lauria\/\">Joe Lauria<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><em>Special to Consortium News<\/em><em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><a class=\"image-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Joe-Lauria1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-30308\" src=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Joe-Lauria1-130x130.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>T<\/strong>he telephone call between U.S. President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday was said to have not \u201cgone well,\u201d according to a senior Ukrainian official.<\/p>\n<p>The official said Zelensky urged Biden to \u201ccalm down the messaging\u201d on the situation in Ukraine and that Ukrainian intelligence did not see a Russian threat the same way the U.S. did, according to a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2022\/01\/27\/politics\/biden-zelensky-call\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report<\/a>\u00a0on CNN.\u00a0 It is\u00a0 \u201cdangerous but ambiguous,\u201d the official quoted Zelensky as telling Biden, and that \u201cit is not certain that an attack will take place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At a news conference on Friday, Zelensky said: \u201cThey keep supporting this theme, this topic.And they make it as acute and burning as possible. In my opinion, this is a mistake.\u201d He added: \u201cIf you look only at the satellites you will see the increase in troops and you can\u2019t assess whether this is just a threat of attack or just a simple rotation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Zelensky also spoke about the resumption of diplomatic talks in Paris in the Normandy Format with Germany and France in which the Minsk Accords are to be implemented.\u00a0 The 2015 accords would end the war between Kiev and two breakaway eastern provinces that opposed the 2014 U.S. backed coup that overthrew a democratically elected president that leaned towards Moscow. The provinces would be given autonomy from Kiev.\u00a0 Zelensky said he hoped that the ceasefire in the east would hold.<\/p>\n<p>This is almost the exact opposite of what the U.S. and its loyal media are blaring everyday. In the call,\u00a0Biden raised the temperature, decisively saying that a Russian invasion of Ukraine was coming. \u201cBiden warned his Ukrainian counterpart that a Russian attack\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/01\/25\/politics\/white-house-ukraine-russia\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">may be imminent<\/a>, saying that an invasion was now virtually certain, once the ground had frozen later in February, according to the official,\u201d the CNN report said.<\/p>\n<p>War fever has clearly gripped Washington.\u00a0Emily Horne, a U.S. National Security Council spokeswoman, \u201cdisputed the senior Ukrainian official\u2019s description of the call\u201d according to the network.\u00a0 \u201cAnonymous sources are \u2018leaking\u2019 falsehoods,\u201d she was quoted as saying. \u201cPresident Biden said that there is a distinct possibility that the Russians could invade Ukraine in February. He has said this publicly and we have been warning about this for months. Reports of anything more or different than that are completely false.\u201d\u00a0 This was before Zelensky repeated the same sentiments on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>But Zelensky is not the first first Ukrainian leader to deny that there is a serious threat from Moscow.\u00a0<em>The New York Times<\/em>\u00a0reported on Tuesday:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cUkraine\u2019s defense minister has asserted that there had been no change in the Russian forces compared with a buildup in the spring; the head of the national security council accused some Western countries and news media outlets of overstating the danger for geopolitical purposes; and a Foreign Ministry spokesman took a swipe at the United States and Britain for pulling the families of diplomats from their embassies in Kyiv, saying they had acted prematurely.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The line from Washington, funneled through the U.S. corporate media, is that America understands Ukraine better than Ukrainian officials do. The reason Ukrainians are pushing back against the U.S. hysteria, \u201canalysts\u201d are \u201cguessing,\u201d is to \u201ckeep the Ukrainian markets stable, prevent panic and avoid provoking Moscow, while others attribute it to the country\u2019s uneasy acceptance that conflict with Russia is part of Ukraine\u2019s daily existence,\u201d as the\u00a0<em>Times<\/em>\u00a0reported.<\/p>\n<p>It couldn\u2019t possibly be because there\u2019s not the threat the Americans say there is.<\/p>\n<p>The war fever is clouding the minds of the U.S. national security state and its loyal media.\u00a0And, as always, arms manufacturers like Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics stand to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/inthesetimes.com\/article\/ukraine-russia-raytheon-lockheed-martin-general-dynamics-weapons-industry?fbclid=IwAR2FI02NtmbbGmB6ycjScQuiVL2_BayzeUHw3g1Iw0UMbzWA-_yAA17DjtY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">benefit.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The angry response from the NSC spokeswoman reveals how official Washington is reacting to doubts about the war hysteria, even if it comes from the president of the supposedly targeted country.<\/p>\n<p><strong>European Doubts Too<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ukraine is not the only country that is not as gung-ho for war as America. Germany has refused to ship its weapons to Ukraine.\u00a0\u201cWeapons deliveries would not be helpful at the moment \u2013 that is the consensus within the government,\u201d German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said last week.<\/p>\n<p>Last Saturday, Vice-Admiral Kay-Achim Sch\u00f6nbach, the head of the German navy, resigned after saying talk of a Russian invasion of Ukraine was \u201cnonsense\u201d and that Russia was merely seeking \u201crespect\u201d for its security concerns in Europe.\u00a0 \u00a0German business with extensive commercial ties to Russia, has long bridled under pressure from Washington to put German sanctions on their trading partner.<\/p>\n<p>Germany\u2019s stance has freaked out strident Atlanticists, such as the think tank Carnegie Europe, which yesterday\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/carnegieeurope.eu\/strategiceurope\/86288\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>, \u201cIf Berlin does not adopt a bolder, unambiguous stance toward Russia, it will undermine the West\u2019s deterrence efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. State Department took the extraordinarily bold step on Thursday of dictating to Germany that the U.S. would shut down the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline from Russia to Germany \u2014 a commercial project that has nothing to do with the U.S. \u2014 if Russia invades.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to be very clear: if Russia invades Ukraine one way or another, Nord Stream 2 will not move forward,\u201d U.S. state department spokesman Ned Price told NPR. But even the BBC had to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-60151839\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">say<\/a>: \u201cQuestions remain over whether the US would have the power to cancel the project.\u201d\u00a0 By no coincidence, the U.S. this week said it was organizing much more expensive liquified natural gas shipments, from the U.S. and other parts of the world, if a war caused Russia to turn off its gas pipelines to Europe.<\/p>\n<p>For its efforts to undermine Russia and even for naked commercial interests, the U.S. seems to be willing, even begging, Russia to invade.<\/p>\n<p><strong>France Too<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_74159\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a class=\"image-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Macron-at-EP.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-74159\" src=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Macron-at-EP.jpeg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1223px) 100vw, 1223px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Macron-at-EP.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Macron-at-EP-500x333.jpeg 500w, https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Macron-at-EP-160x107.jpeg 160w\" alt=\"\" width=\"1223\" height=\"815\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-74159\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-74159\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Macron leaving European Parliament after address last week.\u00a0(European Parliament)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>In an address to the European Parliament last week, French President Emmanuel Macron appeared to show Russia the kind of respect Sch\u00f6nbach was talking about. He said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cEurope needs to build a collective security order on our continent. Our continent\u2019s security requires a strategic reinforcement of our Europe as a power of peace, a balancing power, particularly in its dialogue with Russia. I have been advocating this dialogue for several years. It is not optional, for our history and our geography are stubborn, both for ourselves and for Russia. For security in our continent, which is indivisible. We need this dialogue\u2026. What we need to build is a European order founded on principles and rules to which we have committed, and which we established not against or without Russia, but with Russia.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Despite Macron\u2019s words, France has agreed to send a contingent of its NATO soldiers to Eastern Europe, along with Denmark, Spain, and the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>As is often the case, Europe is torn between its own interests and those being dictated by Washington, resulting in an ambiguous policy. There are few examples of Europe risking America\u2019s ire, even for its own benefit.<\/p>\n<div data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_0FCE1425-61E0-3C1C-96F8-9E5A25BAA070\">\n<p>Refusing to cooperate with the U.S. on Ukraine would signal a European defiance of the United States such as Charles de Gaulle pulling France out of NATO in 1966 to preserve French independence.<\/p>\n<p>The last time European governments broke with Washington on a major issue was the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. Then France and Germany joined Russia on the U.N. Security Council in blocking the war\u2019s authorization (although Britain supported it). But France and Germany then voted for a resolution several months later that essentially condoned the invasion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Only London\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<div data-paragraph-id=\"paragraph_0FCE1425-61E0-3C1C-96F8-9E5A25BAA070\">\n<div id=\"attachment_46953\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a class=\"image-anchor\" href=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Johnson-Flickr.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-46953\" src=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Johnson-Flickr.jpg\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Johnson-Flickr.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Johnson-Flickr-500x341.jpg 500w, https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Johnson-Flickr-1000x683.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Johnson-Flickr-768x524.jpg 768w, https:\/\/consortiumnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Johnson-Flickr-160x109.jpg 160w\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"699\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-46953\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-46953\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Boris Johnson\u00a0(Flickr)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The dissension by the German admiral and the French president to the U.S. position exposes the war propaganda being stirred up daily over Ukraine as a mostly Anglo-Saxon affair.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Britain has begun playing an increasing role with the United States in preparing its populations for war, reminiscent of the lead-up to the 2003 U.S-U.K. invasion of Iraq.<\/p>\n<p>Last Saturday, the British Foreign Office, without providing any evidence at all, said Russia is planning to \u201cinstall a pro-Russian leader in Kyiv as it considers whether to invade and occupy Ukraine.\u201d This week Prime Minister Boris Johnson said an invasion would become \u201ca painful, violent and bloody business\u201d for Russia.<\/p>\n<p>The Ukrainian people already installed a pro-Russian leader through the ballot box, Viktor Yanukovych. He was overthrown in an actual U.S.-backed coup in Ukraine in 2014, leading to the continuing crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence for the Kiev coup came in the form of a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WV9J6sxCs5k\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leaked telephone call<\/a>\u00a0between then U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland and the then U.S. ambassador to Ukraine in which they discussed who the new Ukrainian leader would be, weeks before the coup happened.<\/p>\n<p>Britain is going further, spreading alarm that the Ukraine standoff can lead to a world war. Liz Truss, the British foreign secretary, traveled as far as Australia to raise fears that China might join the war by attacking Taiwan if Russia \u201cinvaded\u201d Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>An\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.smh.com.au\/politics\/federal\/aggressors-working-together-uk-s-truss-warns-china-could-follow-russia-into-war-20220121-p59q8p.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interview<\/a>\u00a0she gave to\u00a0<i>The Sydney Morning Herald,<\/i>\u00a0under the headline: \u201cAggressors working together: UK\u2019s Truss warns China could follow Russia into war,\u201d began:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cChina could use a Russian invasion of Ukraine as an opportunity to launch aggression of its own in the Indo-Pacific, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has warned. \u2018I don\u2019t think we can rule that out,\u201d Ms Truss said. \u2026 \u201cRussia is working more closely with China than it ever has.
