Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “urgently” left Kiev for Poland following the Russian military operation in Ukraine last week, according to Ukrainian opposition lawmaker Ilya Kiva.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The lawmaker claimed that Zelensky is hiding in the US Embassy in Warsaw, Poland\u2019s capital, the\u00a0Sputnik\u00a0<\/em>news agency reported on Friday.<\/p>\n

“This is where he is set to continue to utilize the Ukrainian Army and civilians while making insane orders that cost thousands of human lives”, Kiva said in a video message on his Telegram channel.<\/p>\n

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced last week a \u201cspecial military operation\u201d in Ukraine\u2019s Donbas region to \u201cdefend people\u201d subjected to “genocide” there against government forces, stressing that Moscow has \u201cno plans to occupy Ukrainian territory.\u201d<\/p>\n

US President Joe Biden called the Russian action an “unprovoked and unjustified attack,” and the American media described it as the biggest assault on a European state since World War Two assault by Russia.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Russian State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin also claimed that Zelensky had fled Ukraine for Poland.<\/p>\n

“Zelensky left Ukraine. Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada said that they could not get to him in Lvov,\u201d he wrote on his Telegram channel. “He is now in Poland”.<\/p>\n

An American political analyst says the United States engineered \u201cthe Ukraine crisis in order to hurt not only Russia but the emerging bloc of countries seeking economic independence from the US.”<\/a><\/div>\n

Commenting on the report, American journalist Don DeBar said, \u201cIt was clear to me last weekend that’s Zelenski had left Ukraine. I knew he had left Kiev for Lviv either last Friday or Saturday because it was reported that both NATO’s headquarters in Ukraine and the US Embassy to Ukraine had already done so. Obviously, he is under their protection (if not in their custody).\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was reported last weekend that both had gone to Warsaw, and so I assumed Zelensky accompanied them there as well,\u201d he told Press TV.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdditionally, that became more evident when he insisted that the first round of talks held last Monday be held not on the Ukraine-Belarus border but in Poland. And when the talks were in fact held in Ukraine at the Belarus border, he did not attend. Instead he issued a series of videotape statements claiming that he was in Kiev but from a set that look like a basement somewhere next to Dick Cheney’s famous \u2018undisclosed location.\u2019 In other words, that could have been recorded anywhere on Earth,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

President Vladimir Putin has warned Russia\u2019s neighbors against escalating tensions amid an ongoing war with Ukraine.<\/a><\/div>\n

\u201cI have been saying for a week and a half that I fully expect some real estate broker is showing either some member of his family or someone from Langley, waterfront condos and co-ops in Miami somewhere near the one likely housing Juan Guaido,\u201d DeBar said, referring to the US-backed opposition leader of Venezuela.<\/p>\n

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has decried the US attempts to impose a \u201cpuppet\u201d on his country and vowed to send him to prison, following his purported “swearing-in” ceremony as the interim president three years\u00a0ago. Guaido had declared himself as the interim president of Venezuela in 2019 with the backing of the United States.<\/p>\n
