Two mainstream media reports that seem like elephants in the room, whose tails are linked. First this:<\/p>\n

\u201cRussia demanded on Wednesday that the United States explain to the world why it had supported what Moscow cast as a military biological programme in Ukraine involving deadly pathogens including plague and anthrax.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova demanded transparency from Washington over the allegation, which is denied by Kyiv and which a Pentagon spokesman has described as absurd.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She said evidence of the alleged programme had been uncovered by Russia during what it calls its “special military operation” in Ukraine, which its forces invaded on Feb. 24.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We can already conclude that in Ukrainian biological laboratories in direct proximity to the territory of our country, development of components of biological weapons was being carried out,” she said.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zakharova said Russia had documents showing that the Ukrainian health ministry had ordered the destruction of samples of plague, cholera, anthrax and other pathogens after Feb. 24.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then this: <\/em>Zelensky \u201ccools\u201d about NATO membership after discovering NATO is \u201cnot prepared to accept Ukraine?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he had “cooled down” about Ukraine’s bid to join NATO amid Russia’s war with the Eastern European country<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“Regarding NATO, I have cooled down regarding this question long ago after we understood that NATO is not prepared to accept Ukraine,” Zelensky told ABC News<\/a> in an exclusive interview that aired Monday night.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Zelensky added: “The alliance is afraid of controversial things and confrontation with Russia. I never wanted to be a country which is begging something on its knees. We are not going to be that country, and I don’t want to be that president.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ukraine’s pursuit of NATO membership has been cited by Russian President Vladimir Putin as a justification for his decision to invade Ukraine.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n
