These include the heads of departments and employees at the US Defense Department, as well as its main contractor companies. As ongoing journalistic investigations in the western press show, these campaigns were directly connected to Hunter Biden, the son of the US president,\u201d Konashenkov said.<\/p>\n<p>The MoD spokesman did not elaborate on when the new information would be made public. The Russian military has spent the past month slowly pulling back the curtain on the extent of US-funded research into dangerous pathogens in Ukraine-based labs. Last week, the MoD cited documents\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sputniknews.com\/20220324\/fund-of-joe-bidens-son-connected-with-financing-of-us-military-bio-activities-in-ukraine---mod-1094150901.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">which implicated<\/a>\u00a0an investment firm connected to Hunter Biden in the financing of the military biological programme in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<div href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10651957\/Russia-claims-Hunter-Biden-secretly-funding-bioweapons-labs-Ukraine.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">accusing<\/a>\u00a0the MoD of \u201cramping up a wild propaganda campaign\u201d on bioweapons labs.<\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-10652127\/Hunter-Biden-helped-secure-millions-funding-military-biotech-research-program-Ukraine.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">analysis<\/a>\u00a0by the newspaper based on emails garnered from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sputniknews.com\/20220325\/report-hunter-biden-helped-secure-millions-for-dod-contractor-working-on-pandemic-causing-research-1094203705.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">laptop<\/a>\u00a0which Biden Jr left behind in a Delaware computer repair shop soon confirmed that the president\u2019s son \u201cDID (sic) help secure millions in funding for [a] US contractor in Ukraine specialising in deadly pathogen research,\u201d and that the allegations made by Russia \u201cmay well be true\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A report by the New York Post, the same newspaper that first broke the Biden laptop story in the autumn of 2020,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sputniknews.com\/20220326\/hunter-biden-funnelled-tons-of-money-to-metabiota-for-bioweapon-research-near-russian-border---1094227173.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">corroborated<\/a>\u00a0the Daily Mail\u2019s reporting on Hunter and the Ukrainian biolabs.<\/p>\n<p>Pro-White House media has continued to defend the president amid mounting questions related to his family\u2019s activities in Ukraine, with the Washington Post\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/03\/29\/truth-about-hunter-biden-ukrainian-bio-labs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">releasing<\/a>\u00a0a \u201cfact check\u201d explainer suggesting that the labs alluded to were \u201cbiological research facilities focused on better detecting, diagnosing and monitoring infectious-disease outbreaks,\u201d not \u201cbioweapons labs\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Post suggested that \u201crandom emails can be easily misinterpreted without additional reporting,\u201d and claimed, without evidence, that reports by its competitors were false.<\/p>\n<p>Other outlets and media organisations, including the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/russia-ramps-up-the-crazy-with-biolabs-presentation-featuring-hunter-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Beast<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2022\/03\/25\/1087910880\/biological-weapons-far-right-russia-ukraine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NPR<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediamatters.org\/russias-invasion-ukraine\/conspiracy-theory-about-hunter-biden-and-ukrainian-biolabs-went-qanon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media Matters for America<\/a>, have continued to dismiss the Russian MoD releases and western outlets\u2019 reporting as \u201ccrazy\u201d \u201cconspiracy theories,\u201d notwithstanding Undersecretary of State Victoria Nuland\u2019s remarks in a Senate hearing earlier this month confirming that \u201cbiological research facilities\u201d were operating in Ukraine, and that the US was \u201cquite concerned\u201d that \u201cRussian troops\u2026may be seeking to gain control of\u201d the facilities and the \u201cresearch materials\u201d contained therein.<\/p>\n<p>In a presentation on 6 March, the MoD published a letter by Ukrainian Health Minister Viktor Liashko dated 24 February (the same day the Russian military operation in Ukraine began) ordering the destruction of deadly pathogens
