Why is the United States waging war in Ukraine?\u00a0 Adam Schiff himself explained it:\u00a0 \u201cThe United States aids Ukraine and her people so that we can fight Russia over there and we don\u2019t have to fight Russia here.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In other words, the war is between America and Russia, not between Ukraine and Russia. Thus we are even more urgently asking why, particularly given that historically Russia has been a good neighbor of America.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Indeed, as our guest Salim Mansur illustrates, not only were America and Russia allies in the past two world wars, but Russia also came to the aid of America during its civil war and the significance of this has all but been forgotten.\u00a0 It is an amazing slice of history, presented in the context of the propagandized and false Ukraine narrative being told in popular media today.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The answer to the question \u201cwhy\u201d can be found in a \u201cNeocon\u201d policy paper prepared after the cold war entitled \u201cRebuilding America\u2019s Defenses.\u201d It outlines a \u201cgrand strategy\u201d aimed to \u201cpreserve and extend (America\u2019s) advantageous position as far into the future as possible.\u201d\u00a0 But in the \u201cabsence of any global rival,\u201d explains Salim, Russia was chosen on the grounds that it was the only \u201cother\u201d significant military power.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Neocon orchestration of successive military campaigns around the world of which Ukraine is but the latest may also account for America\u2019s \u201cstrategy\u201d in Vietnam.\u00a0 After discovering that America\u2019s role in that conflict had little to do with the narratives being spun in American media, Vietnam vet Bill Ehrhart arrived at an amazing realization.\u00a0 \u201cI needed to have an understanding of the political and historical realities that brought us to Vietnam before I could make sense of what I was seeing.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 So too, with events in Ukraine.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 In every conflict and war, there are at least two sides (and often more!) engaged in that conflict.\u00a0 To determine which are justified requires an objective knowledge and application of fundamental principles of justice.\u00a0 But just as importantly, it also depends upon understanding the entire context and history of any given conflict in a way that is Just Right.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
