Monkeypox Terror vs. LGBTQ\u00a9 Agenda: When Contradictory Leftist Narratives Collide<\/strong><\/h2>\n

One of the more pernicious tactics that the social justice movement uses is placing its opponents into rhetorical double-binds<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cA psychological predicament in which a person receives from a single source conflicting messages that allow no appropriate response to be made.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Once you understand how this manipulative trick works, you\u2019ll discover it everywhere in SJW discourse.<\/p>\n

For example, let\u2019s take the recent monkeypox scare, which primarily affects homosexual men \u2013 or, to use the new PC phrase, \u201cmen who have sex with other men.\u201d<\/p>\n

Via Associated Press<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cSo far, more than 2,800 U.S. cases have been reported\u00a0as part of an international outbreak\u00a0that emerged two months ago. About 99% have been men who reported having sex with other men<\/u><\/strong>, health officials say.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

On the one hand, LGBTQ+++\u00a9 activists criticize the public health response on the grounds that it\u2019s not responsive enough to the needs of \u201cvulnerable\u201d populations.<\/p>\n

Via ABC News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cDemonstrators, including many LGBTQ activists, say officials have yet to provide the necessary outreach to vulnerable populations as issues continue to plague the vaccine rollout.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And via MSN<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cSome LGBTQ critics have accused government officials of being slow to tackle the outbreak because it is primarily affecting LGBTQ men, a community that has long faced discrimination and limited care when it comes to health crises.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yet, on the other hand, tailoring the monkeypox response to gay men \u2013 who, again, account for 99% of cases, is framed as \u201cstigmatizing\u201d:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe singling out has sparked fears that gay and bisexual men, who appear to account for most of Europe\u2019s monkeypox cases so far, are once again in danger of being stigmatized as carriers of an exotic and frightening disease.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

And via The Conversation<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cMany cases, but not all, that were recently\u00a0reported were in gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men. This is unfortunate as there is a real danger here of further stigma being generated towards this group<\/u><\/strong>\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

They have suffered tremendously over the years with the stigma attached to infectious disease, most notably with the HIV\/Aids pandemic, and there is still a strong\u00a0undercurrent of homophobia\u00a0even in countries with strong LGBTQ+ rights<\/u><\/strong>.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
