On this day in 1964, Congress passed the \u201cGulf of Tonkin Resolution\u201d which began massive escalation of the US war and occupation of Vietnam.<\/p>\n

This is a bit of a slow moving video, but stick with it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s full of gems:<\/p>\n

1. The \u201cincident\u201d never happened and at least one of the radar men on duty knew and reported it (\u201cRadar men\u201d were later blamed for the false report.)
\n2. The Gulf of Tonkin resolution and all the immediate retaliatory actions after the \u201cincident\u201d had to have been planned weeks if not months in advance of August 4th.
\n3. We were lied into the Vietnam War with a faked incident attributed to North Vietnam \u2013 a classic false flag operation.<\/p>\n

In 1964, Lyndon Johnson ran and won the presidency on a campaign of \u201cNo War in Vietnam.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then \u201csomething\u201d happened on the night of August 4th in the Gulf of Tonkin (after a previous incident on August 2nd) in international waters off of Vietnam.<\/p>\n

Just six days later, the normally slow-moving Congress passed the infamous Gulf of Tonkin Resolution which formed the basis for military action in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

It was all based on a deliberate fraud as this former active duty Navy lieutenant explains.<\/p>\n

One two US Senators opposed the resolution: Senators Wayne Morse (D-OR) and Ernest Gruening (D-AK).<\/p>\n

Senator Gruening objected to \u201csending our American boys into combat in a war in which we have no business, which is not our war, into which we have been misguidedly drawn, which is steadily being escalated\u201d.<\/span>
