{"id":128374,"date":"2022-08-13T12:03:45","date_gmt":"2022-08-13T16:03:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=128374"},"modified":"2022-08-13T12:03:45","modified_gmt":"2022-08-13T16:03:45","slug":"why-are-democrats-backing-maga-candidates-in-gop-primaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stateofthenation.co\/?p=128374","title":{"rendered":"<h2><b><i>Why Are Democrats Backing MAGA Candidates in GOP Primaries?<\/i><\/b><\/h2>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more-->By Ben Bartee<br \/>\nTHE DAILY BELL<\/p>\n<p>Like Shakespeare said,\u00a0<em>\u201call the [political] world\u2019s a stage.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>National-level US electoral politics are a performance.<\/p>\n<p>The audience is the population; the actors are the politicians; the generous patrons of the arts are the oligarchs. The purpose is paralysis and pacification, to keep the population wedded to the idea that its voice matters in a \u201cdemocracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The objective reality is that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.patreon.com\/posts\/us-democracy-is-49208073\">popular opinion doesn\u2019t matter one iota to elite decision-makers<\/a>. But, as long as they can convince enough of the NPC electorate that it does, the hope is that they can stymy any popular resistance to the regime by funneling voters\u2019 angst into pointless elections.<\/p>\n<p>Hence the \u201cdemocracy\u201d fa\u00e7ade.<\/p>\n<p>No other explanation other than the theatrical suffices for why the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/67OG7Ajg_jE\">Democrat Party is bankrolling the most fervent \u201cstop the steal\u201d Republicans<\/a>\u00a0in national races from Pennsylvania to Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014-<\/p>\n<p>In April 2015 \u2014 before Trump\u2019s infamous \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.p2016.org\/trump\/trump061615sp.html\">Mexicans are rapists<\/a>\u201d announcement speech, before the \u201cgrab \u2019em by the pussy\u201d leak \u2014\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.salon.com\/2016\/11\/09\/the-hillary-clinton-campaign-intentionally-created-donald-trump-with-its-pied-piper-strategy\/\">Hillary Clinton Inc. devised a \u201cpied piper\u201d strategy<\/a>. She plotted to deploy her cronies in the corporate media and DNC machinery to \u201celevate\u201d Donald Trump in the GOP primary.<\/p>\n<p>Per the pied piper strategy, as evidenced in leaked emails published by Wikileaks (free Julian Assange!), Clinton wanted to use Trump\u00a0\u201cas a cudgel to move the more established candidates further to the right.\u201d The intended effect was \u201cto make whomever the Republicans nominate unpalatable to a majority of the electorate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Presumably to this end, and also because Trump\u2019s bombastic and energetic speeches drew eyeballs, the corporate press\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/taibbi.substack.com\/p\/remember-the-billions-of-free-coverage\">gave Trump $5 billion in free media coverage<\/a>\u00a0throughout the primary campaign \u2013 all while feigning outrage at his racism, misogyny, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The idea was that Clinton and her media proxies could prop up Trump, drive the GOP base to the \u201cfar right,\u201d and get an easier opponent to beat in the general election as a result.<\/p>\n<p>Hillary Clinton, aka Dr. Frankenstein 2.0, built a monster, and it devoured her in the general election. She\u2019s still trying to find something, anything to blame besides herself \u2013 Russia, racism, Jill Stein.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously, the pied piper strategy backfired.<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s nothing new under the sun. You can\u2019t teach an old dog new tricks,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/news\/2022\/07\/democrats-spend-millions-on-republican-primaries\/\">so the democrats are back at it again<\/a>\u00a0in the 2022 GOP primaries:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cPolitical groups and nonprofits aligned with the Democratic Party have\u00a0<strong><u>spent nearly $44 million on advertising campaigns<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0across five states\u2019 Republican primaries\u00a0<strong><u>to boost the profile of far-right candidates<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0in California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Maryland.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Democrats\u2019 strategy is\u00a0<strong><u>rooted in the belief that these candidates<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 many of whom spread unfounded claims that the 2020 presidential race was stolen from former President Donald Trump \u2014\u00a0<strong><u>will be easier to defeat in a general election.\u201d<\/u><\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In many cases, Democrats have spent more money in the 2022 primaries backing \u201cfar-right\u201d candidates than the candidate and his\/her opponents\u2019 campaigns\u00a0<em>combined<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Democrats\u2019 Midterm Strategy Is Akin To \u2018Playing With Fire\u2019\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dFSrPpGnCTY?feature=oembed\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is even bankrolling the primary opponents of Peter Meijer,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/07\/26\/peter-meijer-michigan-democrats-trump\">one of ten total congressional GOP members to vote for Trump\u2019s 2021 impeachment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>So much for \u201csaving democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If saving democracy from the orange fascist were truly the objective, why would the Democrat Party back the challenger to one of the lone dissenting voices in Congress who voted to remove him?<\/p>\n<p>All told,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/news\/2022\/07\/democrats-spend-millions-on-republican-primaries\/\">as of mid-July<\/a>, \u201cpolitical groups and nonprofits aligned with the Democratic Party have spent nearly $44 million on advertising campaigns across five states\u2019 Republican primaries.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Krystal Ball: CNN GOBSMACKED By Dem Hypocrisy on Stop the Steal\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/67OG7Ajg_jE?feature=oembed\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s give them the benefit of the doubt: the CNN pundits in the above clip might actually be too stupid to understand what\u2019s going on. Their bafflement and outrage might be genuine. Indeed, they\u2019re hired for their compromised intellect and lack of insight; it\u2019s essentially a job requirement.<\/p>\n<p>But their bosses in corporate leadership, who are political actors cozy with the Deep State and not journalists, understand the game well.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014<\/p>\n<p>None of the Democrats\u2019 funding of opposition primary races, you will notice, is remotely connected to any sincerely-held ideological commitments. The entire purpose is equal parts cynical electioneering and social engineering.<\/p>\n<p>Rigging the primaries to get an easy opponent in the general is only part of the strategy. The other objective is even more nefarious.<\/p>\n<p>The corporate state needs its synthetic \u201cUltra MAGA,\u201d \u201cfar-right,\u201d \u201cwhite supremacist,\u201d \u201cdomestic terrorist\u201d boogeyman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUltra MAGA\u201d is a hilariously inept focus-grouped phrase, the anticlimactic\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/ultra-maga-biden-used-term-after-6-months-of-research-2022-5\">final product of six months of \u201cresearch\u201d<\/a>\u00a0headed by Biden adviser Anita Dunn and the DC think tank Center for American Progress Action Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The intended effect of \u201cUltra MAGA\u201d is to induce maximum fear in the public. The actual effect is to make Ultra MAGA republicans look cool and subversive, even when they\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybell.com\/all-articles\/news-analysis\/meet-the-turncoats-what-to-do-with-these-pharma-funded-gop-cucks\/\">serve the corporate state\u2019s priorities<\/a>, as milquetoast Trump himself mostly did.<\/p>\n<p>The corporate state needs an excuse to continually increase the domestic surveillance and police state budget to counter \u201cdomestic extremism.\u201d Without one, it might prove unable to justify its current\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybell.com\/all-articles\/news-analysis\/__trashed-2\/\">war on \u201cdomestic terror<\/a>\u201d \u2013 code for \u201canyone opposed to the state\u2019s technocratic takeover agenda in any way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-34929\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybell.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/000.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"208\" height=\"157\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight-wing insurgents\u201d have replaced Al-Qaeda in the Two Minutes Hate.
